Original Haze Worktape

Here it is! The demo I brought in to Seth for Haze. In it you can hear my early-early days of piano playing (but if we're being honest, not much has changed since then haha). It's interesting to hear it back for the first time in year because I'll think "oh yeah, i forgot I did it that way at first", melodies have a way of evolving on their own, especially as you start to get more familiar with them. Also! Different bridge on the demo!!

When Seth and I were producing this song, I remember he dragged over that wubby-base from the chorus to the bridge and we heard it on it's own for the first time and I was like wait!! that's so cool!! I change my mind about the bridge let's have it just be this! and I wrote the little hum over it.

Anyway hope you enjoy! I'll see you this Saturday for the Listening Party!

Here's the demo for Haze!

I actually find it comforting you messed up the lyrics. Makes me feel better for always getting it wrong when I started singing along to it. Not anymore though.

This song is one of those ones that was on constant play in my brain if it wasn't actually playing on something. It got to the point where id be alone and sing it to myself and ply guitar or drums and give it this edgy punk rock vibe. the little spots where you make a mistake like...drop the wrong key ... Its that perfect glimpse into your creative process. it makes me wish i was talented enough to empty the ways my brain recreates these songs onto something shareable with others. I hope you understand just how much you're connecting with your true die hard fans by releasing these, including those like myself who believe you are more than just an Amazing Musician and Artist. I am a die hard fan of you as a human being in general. They broke the mold when they made you Tessa. Don't ever forget what makes you special.

I absolutely love behind the scenes stuff like this, so thank you for posting it! So interesting to hear how the song evolved!

It's crazy looking back at your own work and seeing how you grow over time with anything artistic. I'm an animator and seeing my animations from a year ago compared to now, it really just shows how much I have grown, as well as how much I have left to learn, I'm sure you can relate. Loved this, thanks for posting.
