Finally, Ashe Preview Build!

Hey everyone!

Apologies for the short delay– the testing phase was more challenging and time-consuming than anticipated, thanks to an array of stubborn bugs. Plus, my ambitions for technical advancements in this project have led me into some new and complex territories.

You might recall from previous updates or videos, but I want to reiterate some key aspects of Ashe. Unlike the Serana Dialogue Add-On (SDA), where the friendship mechanic was rather binary, Ashe introduces a more nuanced approach. Instead of an instant switch from stranger to best friend, Ashe’s relationship development is designed to be a gradual journey.

In contrast to Serana's storyline, Ashe doesn’t immediately plunge you into an epic quest. The adventure with Ashe unfolds more slowly, allowing you to truly get to know her character before the quest kicks off. And while the quest is expansive, it's not your typical 'save the world' plot – it's a personal journey with deep, intimate stakes.

I’ve also been experimenting with animated scenes and packages to reduce the reliance on fade-to-black transitions and enhance the storytelling experience.

Developing Ashe is akin to creating several SDA updates simultaneously. Plus, without the structural framework of a DLC like 'Dawnguard', I'm crafting an original content base, which naturally requires more effort.

Stay tuned for more details on what I've added in the upcoming posts and videos. In the meantime, I invite you to explore the current build of Ashe. Remember, it's still a work in progress and may have bugs or unvoiced dialogue, but it's a glimpse into what’s shaping up. Quick side note - I'll definitely need to make an extensive wiki for Ashe too, like Serana HAHAHAHA.

As I mentioned previously, preparing for the public release of 4.1 comes next! At least, after my short Patreon Hangout/Vacation in Dallas hehehehe (December 8-11). For those who can't come, look forward to (potentially) more fan meetups in the West and East Coast of the USA/Canada!

Just keep talking to her, really. The dice rolls shouldn't have much effects on the friendship quest - that is more so about how much you talk to her and which dialogue options you pick. Also, I'm still working on the mod, so I’ll hold off on giving specific advice for now. The whole point of the dev builds was to show you guys what I'm working on and for you to playtest and get a sneak peek of what I've been working on! 🥰

I started four new playthroughs with Ashe on Skyrim 1.6.640 and 1.6.1130. Can you provide any hints on how to reliably get mm_friendshipquest to progress to stage 11, 20, 25, and 26? On one game I got as high as 26, but no further. Perhaps I am just unlucky with your "dice-rolling" algorithm. Or perhaps the "Why is that?" dialog glitch mentioned above by Dar Marova is preventing my quest progression.

Thanks for reporting that. Stuff like this is to be expected since this is only a development preview.

Ashe gets stuck on "Why is that?" dialogue. This is the one where my answer is "You usually come off as kind of distant sometimes". I can choose whichever 3 answers I want but even after convo is done this repeats, which never lets me access any of her other stuff because I she just keeps saying why is that and the only dialogue option I have is the one I mentioned above. Maybe this happens because I talked to her too much early on. Disable/enable does not seem to work and I can't use more informative console to see what package she's running since the update broke console command
