Sorry to hear that! In my own testing, 3.4 worked fine on a 3.3 save, but with the amount of bugfixes and changes, I surmised that this wouldn't be the case with other people's saves - hence the disclaimer. Of course, whenever possible I try to make each update as save game safe as possible, however, not at the expense of bugfixes, improvements, and optimizations :) On a new save it shouldn't be too long until you meet Serana! You can technically just head to the Dawnguard right away. No level requirement for that.

Thanks for your reply. It's a shame for me if I'm not going to be able to use 3.4 (and later) with my existing game, as I'm probably only a third of the way or less into my current game - nowhere near the end but far enough in to make me not want to scrap it and start another game. Therefore it'll be some considerable time before I take this game as far as I want to because I'm not able to spend a huge amount of time playing. I tried a new game with 3.4 and the GYH patch just to see, and it does run normally as you said it would. Obviously I'd have to play it for a while before I encountered Serana.

Seeing as you get the error with the dev build it might be an issue with 3.4 getting installed in existing saves. Try a new game with 3.4 and 100% it should work. I put this in 3.4's changelogs: "This update, despite the extensive changes should be safe to install on an existing save, and SDA has generally worked fine in those cases via my own testing. However, if you would like to err on the side of caution, I'd like to recommend a new game for this update. If you have installed this update and things suddenly don't work, then stick with 3.3 until your next playthrough."

Hi Marty, just to give you an update on this, Serana has returned cured so I've tried the following combinations: SDA 3.4 dev build+GYH patch 1.0.7+Patch hub 1.5SE => same error SDA 3.4 dev build+Patch hub 1.5SE => same error SDA 3.4 dev build only => same error SDA 3.32+Patch hub 1.5SE => all OK In each of the above, I made sure my character was outside the location where Serana is indoors when loading the game. I installed the 3.4 dev build and GYH patch manually using MO2. I'd be happy to provide further info if it'll help, but it would be useful to me if you could explain what "the save game is corrupt and cannot be loaded" is indicating in this context. Is it something to do with mismatching data structures? I won't be around tomorrow (Sunday), so won't be able to do anything further on this then unfortunately.

i think so put the sound in sound folder the script in script folder etc usually used to using NMM

I'll do that and will let you know. Serana's actually away being cured at the moment, so I'll try the dev build when she comes back!

Yes, that's a good load order. Try using it with the 3.4 dev build and see if the issue persists.

Many thanks for this Marty, but I'm having a curious problem with it. Having installed this patch, when I try to load my saved game I get an error saying "the save game is corrupt and cannot be loaded". This happens with whichever save I choose. If I disable the patch, the saves can be loaded OK again. It seems odd that adding something to the game stops saves from being loaded. I put this patch below the main SDA mod and above the SDA patch hub mod in my load order. Do you have any advice please? Does the first time it's used need to be with a save where Serana isn't present at the location of the save?
