Production Update 3/21/23

Writing update:
So, I've been busy, in more ways than I'd like. I've decided to go back and redo some of the existing assets and material in the VN to fit more in line with what I feel. I'm currently editing the script, along with some help, and trying to cut excess and repetitive lines. Progress has been good, and I think its worth the time to get everything up to a new standard. How long will it take? When can you read it? Well, right now! The first 5,000 lines have already been edited and were in yesterday's (2.2) update (That's almost to Day 5). The most major changes are RIGHT at the beginning, with a re-write and a small retcon of MC's morning. I was going to call this update the "have faith" update, as I hope you find the changes amiable, I think they are universally healthier for the story.

I will continue to be working on editing for a while, as I am busy with other things and its the easiest thing to work on. In terms of new story content, I have written a bit, but I will explain below why things are a bit slow right now.

Art update:
Also known as the "drip" update. I'm unhappy with the outfits! I don't think they evoke the aesthetic of the crew well enough and I think they could be improved, along with small updates to the characters designs to make the sprites easier to flip and more around the screen. I decided to start with Rhoun as I had a clear idea of what I wanted, a more serious jumpsuit as well as some heavier clothes indicative of the kind of work he gets up to. Theses are all sketches and therefore subject to change, but I am happy with most of the outfits, minus the vest, which may either change or be removed until further revisions. For example, I'd love to find a place to slap the maintenance logo onto his uniform somewhere.
Will these sprite updates take away from me working on an update? No? Maybe? Not as much as stopping production on an update to just work on them. I figure I will update one of them an update and change them as I figure out how I would want them to look. Next in line will be Marruk, then Marrowyn and then actually Tyr, who I want to give a general sprite overhaul to and add some expressions and better positions for the poor old lad.
But PLEASE let me know what you think of the new Rhoun model and update! And if you want to see any other combinations of outfits he has there let me know and I can try and figure that out.

Life update:
B-busy. I have a major major major deadline due April 13th, with the possibility of it extending further by a week, so I'm beyond drained right now working on that. the most I can do is make edits, but otherwise I can't find too much time to work on new art or bring myself to think about the story and the likes. That being said I have taken some time to map out the plot further and set some key moments/ideas in stone which I think will help down the line.

What to expect:
By next month I could probably get a small update together, one consisting of no new art, that would encompass the night scenes of all three routes right after receiving the lovely news they got at the end of the last update. Otherwise the next large update may take a while, as I am "behind" on writing and I already imagine it will have quite a few BG's and possibly a new sprite. So let me know what you think, and I will see how everything falls into place with my other work.
