Feeling Guilty When You Say No is Not Natural

Today, I uploaded a tik tok which can be found here

It is about feeling guilty when you say no.
I am sure you are all familiar with the situation. You know that you need to tell this person no, but there is this almost overwhelming and otherworldy pull not to do so?

Maybe you didn't want to disappoint a friend by turning down an invitation, or you felt pressure to take on a new project at work even though you were already stretched thin.

Whatever the situation, it can be tough to say no and stand up for ourselves, especially if you were parentified as a child.

But here's the thing: just like in a videogame, sometimes saying no is the key to winning. Think about it – in a videogame, you often have to face off against tough bosses or challenging levels. And sometimes, the only way to beat them is to say no to other distractions and focus on the task at hand.

You have to say no to running.

You have to say no to freaking out.

You have to say no to giving up.

Saying no can be the same way.

It allows us to prioritize our own needs and goals and helps us focus on what is most important to us. And just like in a videogame, the reward for beating the boss or clearing a level is often a sense of accomplishment and progress.

So next time you feel guilty for saying no, remember that it can be a powerful tool for taking control of your life and achieving your goals. Like in a video game, sometimes saying no is the key to winning.
