Q1 What are the works you're most proud of?
Of my recent works featured on Facebook, I think I am most proud of "Wynn Streets". I was attempting to replicate the look of a side-scrolling brawler along the lines of "Final Fight" or "Streets of Rage", with a erotic/ryona focus, and I feel I did a fairly good job of capturing the feel of a tough and beautiful heroine in the hands of a seedy street-gang.
More broadly, I'm fairly proud of my recent game, "Gut Check: Orcs vs. Amazons". Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of the greater picture when you're struggling with so many individual pieces, as is often the case when you're working on a game. But it was a thrill to watch it all come together into a coherent whole, and I think I learned a lot that will (hopefully!) serve me well on future projects.
Q2 How did you come to start creating stuff?
I've always had a strong creative drive; my childhood was full of drawings, construction paper cut-outs, and hand-made board games. As I grew older I started to recognize that if I wanted to see things that fulfilled the images I had in my imagination, I was going to have to bring it into being myself.
I've been writing erotic stories for a very long time, including stories that I sent to my girlfriend when she was on an overseas exchange program while we were both in college. That was more than twenty years ago, now.
I've always loved video games and (as I matured) erotic art, including the vast array of talented artists working on Pixiv and in anime, manga, and doujin comics. When I started working with programs like "Klik & Play" and "Poser", I began to recognize the potential for creating work of my own.
Q3 Share a memorable happy event in your life as a creator
When my first game "On The Ropes" came out in 2008, it was more successful than I had hoped. I've never exactly been able to "quit my day job" off of the proceeds of my creative work, but I was definitely able to buy family members some nice Christmas presents that year. It was very fulfilling to find that there was an audience that appreciated my work.
Q4 Is there something you want to try on FANBOX?
I'm hoping that, in time, I may be able to make demos of the games I'm working on available to my fans. It would be great to be able to get feedback about what they hope to see, to create work that pleases them and have less stress about wandering down "bad roads" and lose time and effort used in creation of things that don't work. Some of these may turn out to be "proof of concept" things that don't reach fruition as full commercial games, but it's all still useful experience.
Q5 Give a message for your future fans!
If you've seen my work on Pixiv, you know that we're going to explore some shadowy places in the worlds of eroticism and violence. Remember that it's all fantasy, and don't hesitate to come along for the ride. I'm glad to have you with me!
