It functions just as if it was running. Light on, I feel it moving but the computer isn't picking it up. It used to take some time for it to but now, it just isn't. I was having a connection problem with my first one which is why I bought another one to replace but now they are both acting up. I hate the connection type they have. It's so easy for them to pop out. I don't know if it's a result of repeatedly being disconnected.

sounds like the drive may be failing, a common problem with some brands. or the needle on the disk is jammed. listen to hear what sound it makes, does it spin then stop?

I made sure not to format it. The cord might have an issue. I hate the connection piece they have, its like a flattened uneven "B" shape and it comes loose easily over a short time and each time my drives disconnect without disconnecting the software first, it had problems reading. Now, it's to the point where it does it when it wants to.

you probably formatted the external for PC and not Mac? I think you were on here when that episode was released.

I don't remember what it was. I was going to check if I have it or not. I don't have it on my computer. I can't check my external drive right now because it won't appear although it turns on for some reason. I probably do have it.

I've had people say they didn't want the story/narration, so it was difficult, as was preparing the narrating. However I will keep this in mind for the future!
