Rie is a 18 year old university student, who also passionately practices gymnastics. Always striving to make her father proud, she also participates in competitions, always giving her all.
Rie's mother died shortly after giving birth, leaving Rie with a lingering feeling of guilt, which despite her fathers unconditional love, she was never quite able to escape.
Her mother's cause of death was ruled to be her heart condition. One which, thorough examinations would show, was passed down to her daughter.
Ever since, the diagnosis had brought uncertainty into Rie's life. Along her mother's beauty, she had inherited her burden. Doctors said there were no preventative measures that could be taken, as her heart continues to develop, there is no way to tell, when or if at all it would lead to trouble. All that could be done for Rie was regular monitoring of her condition.
She promised her father to be the healthiest and happiest daughter he could have had, that if she just kept training herself, she could keep her heart strong and her father from loosing the only one he has left.
While at first everything seemed very normal and hopes where up, that Rie's heart was in fact going to grow up in a more healthy form...As she entered high school, symptoms started to appear.
"That doesn't have to mean anything! I will follow my dreams no matter what! I will remain healthy despite any doubts!"
And she pressed on with unbroken spirit. Graduating from high school and making it among the entries into her design course and gymnastics.
Until one day...
"Rie!?"
"Are you alright!?"
"Hey, Rie! You fell all of a sudden. Are you hurt?"
"Rie?"
"Hold on..."
"Hey, what are you doing? What's wrong?"
"Rie! Say something!"
"I think..She's not breathing. She needs help. Get your phone and call and call an ambulance! Now!"
"Alright!"
"I'll start CPR."
