LGR - Christmas Oddware of sorts

https://youtu.be/yAY_GFwmVow

Greetings! For the second Christmas 2022 video it's an Oddware episode! Or something resembling it. More like the concept loosely interpreted through a clone. It's definitely an odd assortment of holiday items, that much is certain.

Hope you enjoy, and I plan to have one more seasonally-appropriate simple little episode done for next week! After that it'll be back to your regular LGR programming and all that entails.

Lol I need those USB LED lights for my Commodore 1702 crt monitor for when I shoot Christmas videos lol

Like the great holiday specials, you have to think, "things must have been so weird behind the scenes." ... Clint wrapping gifts for himself to open later and be surprised ... filming the clone for split-screen to talk to himself later. Oh so weird.

My god that Jumper is just EPIC! <3

Love the MS Paint sweater! I finally got a Microsoft sweater this year before they sold out: Clippy! (Or Clippit, as it says on his passport.)

I sympathize with your upgrade woes. I had footage from one camera start flickering every fourth frame when I tried switching to 2023. It's a long shot, but would it work to import the Premiere project into Audition, export a .wav, and use FFMPEG to merge it with the video?

That it is, IBM didn't skimp on PC speakers back then! A proper 3-inch cone bolted to the steel housing really did the trick

LGR

Awesome, that's my next video lined up right there! I seem to remember that the PC speaker on the model 60 was pretty beefy compared to other PCs, made LHX sound better before I could get hold of a soundblaster!

Yes indeed, I got a whole bunch of PS/2s all at once some years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2R6bwxQqs8

Thanks Clint, that was great, enjoyed it! Wasn't listening out too hard but I only noticed the a/v sync issue at the very end wrap up? Hope you get to the bottom of it, must be a pain in the eggnog! BTW - is that a row of three IBM PS/2 model 60s behind you (and in front of your clone) at the start? That was my first PC (that was all mine I mean) and a beast, great memories! Think it was a video about the model 60 you did which was how I found your channel in the first place :-)

Wow. I could not tell that was from the 90s. Watching this made me realise how little preschool product presentation has changed. Look at packaging for kids stuff 3 and up from the 90s till now and you will see an evolution but it seems preschool will always use primary colors and the least offensive 'bubble' art it can.

Dried up ink ... the bane of the century. I had the same problem with 3 different printers when i wanted to make some cards a few days ago. In the end i got my old Tektronix Phaser 480x back online and used that. It is a bit 'stupid' to use a 30 year old thermo-sublimation printer for Christmas cards but whatever ;-) After cutting the tabloid sized paper into the correct format (i printed several cards per sheet), i just had to glue the black&white laser-printed inlet onto the back. The result looked pretty nice.

Haha, this was great! The moment the tree appeared in the living room had me laughing like an idiot. I'm very glad you made things look as silly as possible. I'm going to give the Mac version a whirl and see how my nieces & nephews react to it. I better check on my ImageWriter ribbon too... Have an awesome Christmas and a great New Year, hopefully those editor headaches magically fix themselves.

I'm always amazed how well you shoot those videos with your Christmas clones. The timing is perfect, so much so that I'm wondering if you really have a clone...

I forgot what those old printers sounded like. Also "printers suck" seems to be constant across the decades.
