LGR Wrap Up - May 2022

Here's your patron-exclusive Wrap Up video covering LGR in the month of May! Coming from outside this time, ooh nature and things.

And go figure, I totally forgot to ask for questions at the end. So yeah, it's the same deal this month: no exact topic, just leave any question you may have in the comments section below and I'll do my best to answer them next time. Thanks so much for your support!

Question: Storage, I think you've covered this before somewhere but I'm about to go through the hell of moving house too in the near future and am looking at storage options.Specifically for PCI / ISA / Nubus etc cards. Do you have a method that's better than stacking them all in a "really useful box?" Hope your move is going ok.. It's such a massive mountain to scale but we're the same age and most likely had the same fun navigating it all being self employed! ....Farts.

Question: do you have any tips for reading from a script and not sounding like a robot and / or making videos that are borderline or outright educational but also entertaining? Plz send help

What do you like to top a hot dog with? If you're not a hot dog person, what's your go-to sandwich to make?

Two comments and a question. Comment 1: I was a little apprehensive about asking the religion question, thinking that it might be too personal, but your answer was as thoughtful and insightful as I would have expected. Comment 2: As someone who is currently questioning their own gender identity, and probably is trans, thank you so, so much for your support of trans rights. Question: In one of your big box collection videos, you briefly showed the game “Lexi-Cross”. That’s one of my favorites from back in the day, and one I still play on a semi-regular basis. What do you think of that game?

Question with an idea, what about a scrapyard war with the fans participating? Everyone has 100$ and has to create a XP era, so 2001-2002-ish, retro PC on which some demanding for the era games will be benchmarked. Parts lyng around can used but have to be looked up for their current price on local eBay/Craigslist/eBay Kleinanzeigen/whatever. People make a short video about their machine, presenting it, showing the benchmarks and do a short writeup, all that gets collected and the winner gets a nice virtual trophy.

Yep, he did and that earned him a green name in the Shinigami Eyes plugin. <3

Do you watch much Homelab content? What are your IT infrastructure plans now that you have your own house and have it wired for Cat 6?

That's a pretty neat background you have there! I don't consider myself as a car guy either but I like pretty cars. I'm not a fan of crazy muscle cars, I like exotics more. I remember the first time I saw a Lamborghini Countach in Miami Vice as a kid and fell in love with the crazy door! Later, when I played Need for Speed 3, I was happy to have some cool Lamborghini(e)s there but for some reason I was gravitating towards the Corvette C5 in that game. And the rest is history, I'm an Corvette fan ever since Need for Speed 3 :) I know I'll never own one because they are expensive and high maintenance, plus I don't really like driving because I'd be afraid some asshole would wreck my car but I still hold this as a never-to-be-fulfilled dream that one day I'll own a Corvette. If you visit Europe and happen to come to Hungary, let me know! :) Thanks for replying with your Carribean ancestry, and that train horn was awesome in the background! :D It seems you quickly learned that setting a theme for the questions is futile, you forgot to set one. Here's my question: Who is Pushing Up Roses to you, how did you two meat, etc... ?

Sorry if this has been asked in the past, but what kind of format or content are you most excited about doing now that you have so much more room in your new house?

Joon Choi

Glad I could help.

Mr. Spectacals

No worries at all, I'm glad to be called out if I can learn from it and get the opportunity to improve going forward.

We know about your go-to music when you are testing sound cards and MIDI equipment, but do you have any other favorite game soundtracks, including console and even arcade games, any that really stand out? I’d enjoy hearing more of the DOS and early Windows era games with MIDI soundtracks through the MIDI Mountain besides Duke, Keen, etc.
