LGR - The Sims 4 Discover University Review

Well dang, this pack ended up taking longer to experience than I thought! By the end I had around ten hours of footage to sort through on this one. I've always enjoyed the college-themed Sims packs and this one is no exception, it's got some meat on its bones.

Got a few small things to tweak, rearrange, and re-do, but it's more or less the final video that'll go up on Friday. Will update the embed once it's complete as usual. EDIT: done.

And with that, it's almost thanksgiving week here so I'm not entirely sure when the next video will be finished. Got a couple videos in the pipeline and a couple of trips in the next couple of weeks so yeah, we'll see what happens! Always a busy season so I'll be playing it by ear for the remainder of the year, in terms of my own work schedule.

Oh and while I'm thinking about it: are there any Christmas things that you think would work for an LGR episode this year? Games, software, hardware... I've got my own personal list of course but I'm down to hear ideas. There's always something out there I haven't considered. Lemme know!

Haha loved the Aunt Becky reference! Classic!

Overworked, tired, and late to class running though the rain, sounds exactly like my college experience lol ea hit the nail on the head with this one

Excellent, happy to have you here! And thank you 👍

I finally got to it and became a Patreon (after years of binging on YouTube) and I was not disappointed. Great review and entertainment as always.

This looks like the best one yet to me. University was one of my favourite expansions for Sims 2, so...eh, let's face it, I'm probably not gonna buy this. But being able to bang a robot sounds both fun and uncomfortable.

Maybe Christmas-themed Easter eggs in classic games? I remember my Mac version of Number Munchers would show all the characters with Santa hats if played on Halloween (a pleasant surprise for a 7 year-old first discovering this), and SimTower has Santa fly over on in-game Christmas.

Will Herrmann

Love 2006 Clint wearing that Boards Of Canada shirt! I've been listening to then and Mouse On Mars lately, any other recommendations?

Thank you! It's certainly added a whole new layer of stress as well, haha. But yeah I'm really happy with the results myself and it's been a lot of fun creating and experimenting this year.

LGR

Also, congratulations on your sim´s marriage! SHE sounds perfect, haha.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday season, Clint! I´m very appreciative of all the hard work you´ve put into your content this year, like every year. All the improvements with the camera, editing, b-roll... it doesn´t go unnoticed.

Not what I meant when I said I wanted more face-to-face stuff in this pack :D

LGR

Happy to hear it, Chris! I actually re-wrote that ending line a number of times. Had to get it sounding just the right amount of absurd. "Sex robots" was too on the nose, "autoerotic automatons" was overly syllabic, but "booty call bots" made me laugh so that did it.

LGR

Man, that *is* strange. Thanks for sticking around!

LGR

I put together a page of notes on that topic a couple years back actually! Definitely possible, it was always so much fun as a kid to see which of my games ran a little differently on Christmas.

LGR

Haha. Yeah I've storyboarded a number of videos along those lines, there's a lot of comedic potential. Mostly comes down to how willing I am to deal with the requisite camera trickery!

LGR

Ever since covering the Philips Christmas Cow on LGR years back, it's become an annual tradition of mine to peruse the holiday aisles looking for new USB thingies along those lines. So far, all the trees I've seen have thoroughly underwhelmed, but perhaps this year will be different!

LGR

As per usual, your witty narrative and puns kept me thoroughly amused and engaged. My favorite line was the last sentence of this vid.

Chris Hutt

4:22 - Has science gone too far?

Pablo Rodriguez

Add this to the list of must have DLC for the Sims 4. I love it! It’s also strange remembering how I waited for The Sims 3 University review. Time flies by.

Not sure if there's enough content to cover a whole video, but maybe something about time/season unlocked holiday "Easter eggs" hidden within games?

Tktagmedia

Likewise! I was looking forward to saving some money for once, but once again this pack looks enticing and worth getting!

FootyEcstatics

I would watch an entire episode of you just trying to avoid your Christmas clone in comedic ways

Garoninja

So much for me boycotting this one...Here's some more money EA lol

AlexPeaks

For some reason I am always amused by those little LED Christmas Trees that plug into computers. I don't know of any particulars, but certainly there must be versions of those that are "extra"...
