I would watch a "LGR plays the 486" videos every day ! The magnificent sound quality convinced me even further ! :D
Also, now I want to test out a lot of games with my AWE64 but I don't think Jill of the Jungle will play nice on a 800 Mhz P3 CPU, unless I slow it way down with some utility.

That's what's missing from DOSbox; the slightly crunchy, big-room taste you get from the real thing. It's got more punch, and it's slightly more harsh with a touch of reverb all the time, regardless of settings. One of the best examples of the difference is in Doom. There are many music replacements now, but the original, played on a SB Pro or 16 still hits much harder than you might expect. It's got a texture you don't get from modern emulators. Jill of the Jungle is a perfect example, as well. I'm glad you used that in the Video.

AWE is the greatest name for a soundcard.

Man this takes me back to my dad's first IBM PC compatible computer. The ram slots had cheapo locks so after they broke we had to use legos to keep all eight modules in place.

If we were to peer into your soul, all that would be staring back would be wood grain as far as the eye could see. I also just love all the old 90's manuals that all kind of looked the same. I remember just having like a shelf or two of them and never thought I would have an affinity for them.

Hehe, yeah the Sony one wasn't working with the controller cards I had, so a no-name 4x IDE was used :)

Gosh. I *forgot* you ended up switching that over. Thought you ended up going back to the Sony one after finding the CD Blaster one was stuffed!

Oh yeah, the CD-ROM is IDE so it's a breeze, didn't have to change a thing other than the audio cable. And thanks, I like the extra woodgrain accent!

That does feel like a much nicer setup with the Pro. Hopefully the CD-Drive's not been a pain either to get working (I presume it's all good with the adapter card).
The extra bit of woodgrain on the unused drive bays is a neat touch too! :)

Well I respect that. I'll keep an eye out elsewhere. Still, good stuff. Jill of the Jungle still takes me way back. :)

It's part of the SB Pro package and I like to keep it together, so nah :)

Sound Canvas sounds spectacular, I wish my SCC-1 worked! I've had it sent to two separate people for repairs, and it's had about everything replaced, no luck.

SoundCanvas option in Duke Nukem 3D is personally my favorite for it. :) Though I'd love to get my hands on a SoundBlaster Pro someday. Awesome video. :D

Whoa Clint! That little diddy at the end of the Apogee logo screen before DN2 is the same as the end of the Maximum Carnage stage clear tune (or vice versa)!
