I'm Scared

[Early Access]

Hello Patrons!

It's a bit of a late night upload but we still wanted to get this to you before release tomorrow morning.

The QLD state election is only a month away and we'll continue our coverage as it approaches. Today we're providing a comparison of how the parties handle the environment. You can have two guesses as to who comes out on top.

Thank you for your continued support of the channel, we've got some big things just on the horizon!

The FJ Team.

Newman was an LNP leader? I thought he was an irradiated catfish

Kevin, politics is about power, as you say. Every time that Jordan or any other Labor supporter repeats the lie that the Greens are planning to go into coalition with the LNP in this election, you reduce your power with that group of voters (Greens voters, Greens/Labor swing voters). Jordan's actions are based on a realistic assessment of the political situation in Queensland - that spreading that particular lie will lead to what he sees as the best outcomes for Queensland. His choice but he does also then have to cop that particular reduction of his power - being open, honest and direct about the lie that you are telling does not usually make it any more popular among the people you are telling it about. Because, as it stands, the Labor party and its supporters are trying to have it both ways - they are trying to claim that the Greens are willing to do so little that they are willing to cause the loss of this election by being so willing to do so little that they will back the LNP in a minority government whilst simultaneously saying that they are so willing to do too much that they, in a minority government with the Labor party, will cause the Labor party to lose the election after this one. I understand why they are doing that - it might even work - but it is does lessen the sympathy that one might naturally feel when they themselves are the victims of lies. I take your point on Adani but that isn't the only reason that someone might vote for the Greens, although it is obviously important. One last point: Labor went into a minority government with an independent when they won the state after one term of the Newman government. Not having an upper house dulls the power of propaganda because they not only got elected, they got reelected, this time with a majority. Outside the ACT, Labor-Green minority governments have proven to be albatrosses around the necks of the Labor party, so I can understand the fear that they have of it repeating and I think it might well prove to be the case again. But I cannot say for sure - the lack of an upper house might mean a different result than it has meant in states like Tasmania because that lack of an upper house always means that you get the full force the LNP's crap policies (meaning the fear of the LNP would be stronger than it was on those occasions). For what it's worth, I think that Labor will win another term of majority government.

I'm sorry...do the Greens stand any real chance of winning enough seats to become the ruling government of Queensland? Is QLD in 2020 realllllly going to be the Green party's big breakout moment to run an entire state government? FJ is open, honest, and direct about his realism and realpolitik views on getting good people into government now. Not perfect people who conform to a minority view. If the greens were more popular, then they'd have more seats. I think the critiques of them are valid and if FJ thinks they'd be better off acting from within the Labor party instead of being their own party which never gets elected into power.....that's not an insane lunatic point of view. He agrees with them and wants to see the environmental agenda come into reality.....this kind of pointless infighting and cancel culture nonsense is exactly why the Greens party in Australia will never ever get anywhere as it constantly attacks its own. It is also valid to say they should be a separate party and push for their agenda without limitations or compromise to other Labor party goals. Fine, ok, think that, whatever. But it is absurd to say FJ is uncritically parroting Murdoch talking points and he's right that the narrative is that the Green's obsession with Adani in Queensland is not a 'vote getter'....if it was why didn't the Greens themselves win more seats? Obviously the Adani mine is a nightmare of a corrupt project which is terrible for the environment and it is probably already dead in the water....why? Thanks to the Labor government in Qld NOT bankrolling it with a bunch of money obtained from laying off teachers. If the Libs win then Adani could still happen. It might not be sexy or virtue signalling enough for you, but the war of attrition and lack of government handouts from Labor will kill the Adani project as it is unprofitable on its own. Politics is about winning and control and power...not about an absolute truth delivered to you in your favourite flavour of ice cream signalling. Elections turn on a handful of issues and governments do thousands of things, the best way to win and rule the state is to focus on whatever issues that will make you win - then do all the things you're going to do. Again, where are all the Green seats from the big vote getter of 'fuck Adani' amongst the ignorant QLD public? The same public who have been tricked into being both anti-immigrant and really happy about a foreign business killing off the great barrier reef....are you going to 'untrick' those people who think there are millions of non-existent coal jobs? Step 1, educate the entire public, step 2 - win election. Not working out so far.

Pretty easy to be upset about all of it. What matters most is who does more bad things vs more good things over time. We only have the choices before us in a limited representative party rule democracy. "everyone does bad things" isn't really relevant. It is 100% impossible for any government not to do terrible things as they run a country for tens of millions of people and can't always create a positive outcome for all people or all factors all the time. If one sports team wins 9/10 games and the other wins only 1/10 games....do we call them both losers and go into the next game with 'zero idea' of what's likely to happen? Where else and in what other parts of one's personal life or thinking would you ever apply such thinking? No where in no cases does one ever throw out all probability when deciding what to do.

This is very bad news. The Morrison goon squad thinks the OECD is playing too fair and is trying to do what they always do, rig the rules so it works out in their favour. Perhaps FJ's criticism of Australia's piss poor performance in OECD rankings under the corrupt plutocrat Liberal party regime is getting to them? When you're a loser like Morrison, change the rules and endlessly engage in fuckshittery. Disgusting as they destroy all credible sources of information. The inflation numbers, the unemployment numbers, the budget projects....they are all nonsense and garbage used for PR and propaganda purposes rather than to reveal the world for us so that we can apply our ideologies against a common set of facts. https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/morrison-to-nominate-cormann-for-oecd-20201008-p5633s

I'm stopping my donations after listening to Jordies repeat Murdoch ramblings on the Greens. Real shame! I'm hoping he grows out of being a Labor version of Ray Hardley one day and grows closer to the quality of the sources he partially uses. I get he avoids Labor criticism because of our media concentration but there is no need to be hypocritical.

Pretty embarrassed to have thought you were above spreading misinformation for your own political agenda. For the record, the Greens have categorically ruled out forming Government with the LNP in Qld and likewise won't broker any preference deals with the LNP. Your latest "common sense" meme task is based on a lie.

What an awful thing to say about QLD’ers. Luckily you’re old and will die soon.

not to mention their driving 'skills'

Not sure if anyone in the ACT knows, but last time the Libs got in power there they gave rural landholders millions in dirt cheap lease extensions from 30-50 year leases to 99-year leases, and ended the 3 month termination clauses. Then when the development agency need to buy more land for greenfield development, landholders pocketed tens of millions of dollars whereas before the leases would've just expired and the govt got it back for free. I suspect this is part of the reason the Govt is focusing on infill development these days (not that it's a bad thing).

In all of my 70 years on this Earth, I have found the mentality of the vast majority of Queenslanders to be sub-average to the rest of Australia. A state that voted Joh Bjelke-Petersen as it's Premier for nearly 20 years! has got to have the largest number of cretins and morons voting than in any other State. And now it's the offspring of those cretins and morons who are voting! we are DOOMED!

FUCK YES! Thank you so much FRIENDLYJORDIES team for this... so so good 😊 thanks for helping try to stop the LNP from wrecking QLD again! Much appreciation from this QUEENSLANDERS!

Just spent a month in FNQ and oh my... the bombardment of LNP propaganda and Clive's 'Give Labor the Boot' fliers and billboards are intense. It's everywhere :(

Keep people (anyone in the ACT that you know) focused on the issues. The Liberal Party's best chance of winning power in the ACT is if they convince enough people that it's "time for a change" on account of the current minority government's long time in power. It's not "time for a change" because their policies are inferior to that of the current government - they are not the Labor party with a different face.

Hard to be upset with Qsland and NSW governments doing all this logging when the Vic government is complicit with its own illegal logging.

Another LNP Government would have a negative effect.

A video on the Queensland election? Excellent....🙏

Remember those carbon credits ScoMo's using for meeting his Kyoto commitments? They are there thanks to Peter Beattie's bans on landclearing all those years ago... Thanks Pete. And thanks Jordie... psst, my local candidate was Bruz's Staffer in 2011-2014. Grrrr.

Is there anything we can do in the ACT election? Voting is almost on. It's probably the safest seats in Australia but you never know until the chips are down.

Finally a high quality image of Ali’s new Moustache.

"Why not to vote LNP: remember Campbell Newman?" should be Palaszczuk's campaign slogan

Late night Jordies updates get me nervous, needn't have worried as usual
