you're doing it wrong (climate protests)

[Early Access]

Hi all,

When you think about the future of our country and this planet it's hard to remain positive. It's almost enough to get you out on the streets protesting.

Well we're here to tell you there's a better (and easier) way to a brighter future. If enough Australians switched their superannuation from the bog-standard offerings to more eco-friendly alternatives we could make some serious positive changes.

Remember though, friendlyjordies is not a financial advisor.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Climate Active certification has on their website a list of companies, banks, superfunds, etc. Bank Australia is in there, but so is the NAB 🤷‍♂️ https://www.climateactive.org.au/

EG. CEO of AEMO (who operate the grid) a couple of months ago...“Australia already has the technical capability to safely operate a power system where three quarters of our energy at times comes from wind and solar energy generation. “However, to do so requires changes in our markets and regulatory requirements, otherwise, AEMO will be required to limit the contribution of these wind and solar resources to 50 or 60 per cent of electricity supply at any point in time, even though they are the lowest cost way of providing electricity,” . https://arena.gov.au/blog/75-renewable-nem-possible-by-2025-aemo/

Oi! I want my dollar back for this one. Clearly shooting from the hip. If you care about getting green electricity for the country quickly then it isn't as simple as changing your super. You still need to vote but what we dearly need is bipartisan action and pressure on Angus Taylor to buck up and make some decisions. What is most needed now is not more money for projects but boring and market and regulatory reform. AEMO already know what needs doing, but they need the political pressure and $ to get it done...which must come from the government. Sorry to be a stickler but thems are some important facts. But sure, change your super if you like. (and on that, I can say that Future Super have great branding but there are many options here...all FS do is put your money into a single BetaShares ETF. You can chuck some money in that directly and have the same outcome if you have spare cash).

My family uses ME Bank which is also apparently very good

Dave

Hey mate, when is Jordan going to dig into the COVID-19 statistics - could use his honest appraisal .

Awesome, thanks! 💖

Bank Australia is in the lead for ethical banking. I'd recommend them, as would others.

Also, I'm with commbank but I'm keen to swap from a major bank, any recommendations?

Mazziah

I swapped over last night! 💖

Australian Ethical super has been one if the top performers for a couple of years now, I'm lucky I switched before the market tanked back in March, my fund was barely effected by it. Plus you get a free keepcup when you refer people lol

James

Nah, it's returns are pretty good and the don't invest in coal and many other s. I'd say they're equivalent

Greg Comerford

Omg hurry up and release this to the masses - i need to share it!!

Marianne Zags

Took half an hour to switch to Future Super and Bank Australia. Piss easy.

Marianne Zags

Have seen an 11% increase in my super since switching to Future Super 12 months ago resulting in the 10k early release being basically free

Lliam Gregory

Aw fuck yea. I knew becoming a patron would pay off.

ScoMo's a wanker! Wait what were we talking about??

Hey Jordies! Just wanted to hear your take on renewable steel manufacturing. Albanese has backed coking coal beyond 2050, which comes with it's own emissions, after quickly looking into it it turns out that there are renewable ways of producing steel and it would reduce our emissions. Do you think Albanese should be pushing for this as opposed to backing coal? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Beautiful, showed my nan and she almost had a stroke 👍

Josh Kirkwood

Hey Jordies and team, I've been with Australian Ethical Super for a few years. Would you recommend a switch to Future Super from there?

Yeah Scomo to the rescue again, with the amount of Australians having to pull their money out of unethical superannuations investing in fossil fuels - 10D chess indeed

Last year I swapped to Australian Ethical Super. Time to swap to Bank Australia.
