LGR - Thrifts [Ep.25] Moving Forward

Comments

I hope so, it looks cool. And I love anything MIDI related.

Druid Donagh MacBran

Dr. Muto is worth a look if you want to play a robust, sarcastically-written collect-a-thon 3D platformer. I got a lot of enjoyment from it back in the day despite its run-down audiovisuals and some annoying parts.

Leon Staton

I have two Altec Lansing speaker sets like that. I have a 2.1 stereo and a 5.1 surround versions.

Haha!. I can remember temporarily changing the switch when my sister wanted to watch something on a channel I didn't want to watch. What a little ass I was!

Ant Field

Sounds like it's time for you to go thrifting and try your luck :) Cheap PS1s and Genesis consoles may abound!

LGR

Absolutely. And this store near me called "Best," they had all sorts of amazing TVs on display like that!

LGR

Yeah, I really dislike that part of the layout. Had a Packard Bell keyboard of the same style, but older, that I learned on as a kid and while I got used to it, later keyboards were SO much better

LGR

Intentional innuendo is the only kind on LGR

LGR

A bit more than some, but still immensely less than anything you'd pay online

LGR

Very cool. Did it work pretty well?

LGR

Yeah, I'm hearing that it sounds pretty decent! :)

LGR

Future Patreon reward tier? I think so

LGR

Ahh, it's coming back to me now. I remember screwing with that during the Olympics in 1994 and getting in trouble since we couldn't watch

LGR

Those items all come from Target stores, either due to being returns, damaged, or clearance items!

LGR

It may just appear on Oddware!

LGR

remember going into a RadioShack and seeing a whole wall of tiny tvs?

mavrick

The thrift stores near me never have such great items!

Drengus

Oh man, that Packard Bell keyboard. My first computer was a Packard Bell PackMate, and I had that exact board! I learned to write C on it...which was miserable, because of the location of the backspace key.

You should parody Rick and Morty's "Get Schwifty" for LGR Thrifts.

Justin Dotson

I don't know if it's just because I watched "The Way Things Work" episode recently, but your tech geek is showing a lot in this LGR Thrifts episode, haha. You're such a perv, looking up those typewriters' skirts and taking apart that tech to get a good look at everything. ;) (The constant innuendos in your videos doesn't help me not think this. :P) Anyways, I'm glad to see this video finally. I wanted to see it last night but I saw it got taken down so I had to wait until after work to watch. Was worth the wait! :)

Lindsay Michelle

wait wait wait? The tapedeck cost 9 bucks? Man that is one damn expensive one.

Ezydenias

That MusicStar brought back memories, we had that way back in the day to learn how to play the piano.

Douglas Holmes

I used to have that altec Lancing Speaker / Sub system hooked up to my PS2 like 9 years ago haha - it actually worked and sounded great!

Patrick Strater

Clint, I would like to have you say "Jell-o Jigglers" over and over and over again.

Classic Game Room

And since that's a thing my thinking is a few crates of overshot expectation games ends up in a warehouse that has to be cleaned eventually, right?

Eric Christopher

I have been wondering that myself. Odama was available in my region in WALMARTS as late as 2010. I think to some degree the actual retailer doesn't have the space to shelf and then sell the overstocked product due to their MSRP agreements with the publisher.

Eric Christopher

Jello Jiggler reminds me of Bobobobo bobobo.

Eric Christopher

That was a lot of copies of Super Scribblenauts on that shelf with all of the DS and Wii games and such... Wonder how that happened?

Kris Asick

The switches and pots in the top of the VCR was for the channel tuning. Each channel preset button had its own tuning setup with the switch selecting VHF low, VHF Hi, and UHF and the pots tuning the channel in. :)

Ant Field

Are you going to do a review of the midi keyboard?

Druid Donagh MacBran

Haha, amusing video by Jerma there

LGR

Try again, should be all good to watch now!

LGR

But... wanted to see it now :-(

Tim Andersen

3:30 Holy crap, it's the same "700,000 Games" that Jerma played! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3JlXhXXA-Q Also, that calculator @ 7:08 reminds me that I've got a very similar old 70s calculator that I picked up from my local Goodwill several years back.
