So begins Edutainment Month 2016.

LGR - I.M. Meen - DOS PC Game Review

Comments

I do quite like the box! If anything, the art style of that and the game itself is oddly appealing

LGR

I've never played any of the Cluefinders games, but the Dr. Brain series is one I plan to touch on sometime

LGR

Shoehorning educational bits into an action game is SOOO mid-90s, it's kinda great

LGR

I still get YTPs made based on LGR episodes on occasion, haha

LGR

Either that or I've become super predictable

LGR

That kid has the right idea when it comes to this game.

LGR

If I can manage to track down a complete copy, I'd love to cover it

LGR

Do you think you'll review the sequel: Chill Manor some time in the future? I heard that game was even worse!

Caleb Bott

Man I'm glad I never had to play this. Thanks for taking one for the team. Also that kid at the end looks like he got stuck in an opium den.

Justin Dotson

I was thinking wolf3D just before you mentioned it, hahaha. Thank you for an entertaining video of a "game" I will now do my best to avoid, haha

Troy Wilkins

You read my mind, like, several times throughout this video. First with the animations, I was like "Hey, this looks like the Zelda CD-i games" ...well, guess what you said right after? Then your mentions of it being so violent despite the box saying it wouldn't be, and then pointing out the bored face of the boy ... was totally thinking these things right when you said it. I guess our brainwaves are on the same wavelength or something! o.o

I remember this game ONLY because of YTP (anyone remember those?) Thanks for educating me and keeping me informed

I'm still shocked at the fact there's 36 phreaking levels! In a kids game? The designers certainly had some lofty goals. Shame that Morty's (I don't care, I think it's the right name for him) design sensibilities for his dungeons are so terrible… I can't help but feel like they knocked up a low-rent first person game, then shoehorned the educational bit in to get more of a 'buzz' about it…

Rob Caporetto

... yay.

I'm glad it's edutainment month again. I love edutainment. Hey Clint, I'm still hoping you'll feature one of the Dr. Brain games. The only one I played as a kid was The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Also, have you heard of the ClueFinders series? They sold them to us at my elementary school and I ate them up.

I used to love this game when I was younger, but I tried playing it a few years ago, thinking about doing a Let's Play of it, but I got bored about halfway. The game is way too long and repetitive. Though some of the grammar puzzles are entertaining to read, especially the egocentric novels that Meen writes.

Douglas Holmes

Yeah, that face sums it up for sure. Heck, explains why you posted it on twitter too. Hahaha Though it seems to have a decent box still.

ReeseRiverson

Holy shit you're actually doing this
