LGR - The Movies - PC Game Review

Comments

i remember my brother got me this game as a birthday gift we both was sure this would be the new zoo tycoon or something instead it turned out to be a kinda boring game but i think that it was because i did not understand what i was doing

So very unlike Lionhead, at least that it didn't feel like they overpromised on things, and underdelivered on them. Maybe the fact it was them turned me off checking it out back in the day… Such a great concept for a title, and it looks like they did a great job with the concept, and totally a great review too!

Rob Caporetto

I never gave this game a chance because it looked like a cheap Sims 2 knockoff. I totally regret it...

Ian Larrea

Aesthetically, a bit. But it doesn't really play anything like it.

LGR

It looks a bit like a Sims 2 expansion pack, don't you think?

Sabrina

Thanks a lot for this review! The Movies is my sister's favorite game, and she enjoyed this review a lot! :) Sister : "LGR is a man of fine taste!"

I didn't even know this game existed... :o ...might've been just as well. I could see myself sinking far too much time in this thing when I could be making actual videos... like I do now! :D

Kris Asick

Still have my day one copy here great game ...Shame they went on to make black and white 2 after this :(

Darkireland

Well worth it, still a crapload of fun :)

LGR

I'm all on-board for each of those

LGR

I had a crapload of fun with this game! Since you said it works well on modern systems, I should hunt down another copy and play it again.

Matt Cain

Has there ever been a reason as to why a sequel was never made? It looks like they had a great base game that had plenty of ideas they could flesh out with. So many ideas for sequels/addons: The Movies 2: Movie Harder The Movies: Showdown at The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Corral The Movies: Double Feature Edition The Movies: Discovision The Movies: Charlie Sheen is Everywhere (Rated T for Tiger Blood) And probably more if I knew more references. :P

The Enforcer

Likewise, I'd love to see a proper sequel to this. It's such a cool concept and they packed SO much into this first one.

LGR

I've been waiting for this review for AGES. Glad it's finally come out! Shame they made only 1 EP and no sequel, I would've loved to see how they could've expanded this movie-making tycoon game idea even further.
