Got commissioned for another ref sheet - but I wanted to make it more of a piece on its own, y'know? I also really wanted to improve my inking style and decided that this was the right time to play around with it. I am SO pleased with how this looks!

I got a new tablet recently - a display one! Got myself the Kamvas 16 gen 3, which is a significant step up from my 15 year old Intuos 4L. That thing is built like a tank, it will never die. But time has moved on from it lol.

It's taken me a bit to get used to it, but now that I have lines just feel easier.

Another one where I used a bunch of 3D to try and save time. This time it did lol.

I took a mannequin, sculpted some folds on it and used that as a base for the latex. Painted in the rest of the char!

For the background I slapped a bunch of 50s swedish abstract art and cheaply made it tonemapped to an HDR range, so I could use it as a light emissive texture in Maya.

This was drawn on a pen display tablet ✨ got myself a Huion Kamvas gen 3 on sale, retiring the old Wacom Intuos 4L that I've been drawing on going for like... 15 years now? Oh my god. That thing was old. It's taken me a bit to acclimatise but lord I feel like my drawing will speed up from this!

Experimented a bunch with 3D in this and hmmmmmuhhhhhhh I think it ended up being more work than just painting it in the end, lol. I spent so much time overpainting and trying to get a good texture outta it.

Commissioned painting of a benevolent dragon god, amidst the process of creating another world.

I've never painted a dragon before tbh 😤💦 so I was a bit nervous. In the end I sculpted out a VERY CRUDE dragon head to use as reference for myself, trying to understand planes and lighting. It helped a lot.

Wanted to make something a bit more MTG-style, and I think I'd love to push myself eventually to make more art that could maybe fit into a deck of cards

The conscious barbearian uses every part of the pillaged village - Loincloths, ornaments, meat, pelts. There are other uses too, if you save one for yourself 😈🥵💦

Commission for a friend of mine. To think he wasn't even a furry a year or two ago lmao.

Again I tweaked my shaded style for this, and omg those thick lines look so pleasing. I went over them with a brush that has loads of hue/colour noise added to every stroke. I think it adds such a vibrancy to the lines!

Elsewhere, a trucker bathroom

Commission for a real sick pup :3c I decided to restart the initial sketch cos I couldn't at all make the storytelling work, and I think the piece came out much better for it. Working with a UV palette was super tricky too!! But it adds a nice psychedelic feel to it, I think.

SO PROUD OF THIS ONE!!! A good ending CG for The Smoke Room. NGL I cried a little when painting this 😭 cos it's such a sweet scene you know??

I need to learn to organise and push my value groups more consciously - it's something I think I struggle with not having formal painting training. But there are so many resources to look for this sorta thing, so I'm sure I'll find it.
