LGR - Europa Universalis - PC Game Review

Comments

Have you ever played imperialism? That game was a lot of fun back in the day.

Daniel Nelms

Populous I could never get into, but DK has a special place in my dungeon-heart.

A New Simcity? I mean Cities Skylines is maybe one of the worst titels for a citybuilder except "Mom's Kitchen" but that never exsisted.^^ They should call it "Sandbox City" but I gues that would sound to much for a noob.^^ What are your toughts on that new city builder they plan to do at Paradoxe?

Ezydenias

Actually, my comment is based on my complete and total ineptitude for strategy games. :P Oddly, the only exceptions to this rule are games which came from Bullfrog Productions, like Populous and Dungeon Keeper. :o

Like LGR said, the earliest ones are the best in terms of being able to figure them out. If you ever decide to try one, try the older ones. Or just get straight into something like CK2 and go mad :)

Deveron

Oh, the time lost in paradoxes games.. it must be like thousans of hours Hearts of Iron 2 and it's "expansions".

This game would break my head if I tried to play it... x_x; Still, definitely looks well made for what it is so I can understand losing hundreds of hours of one's life to it. :B

Like many here, I come for the videos and stay for the geek-flopping. ;)

I've never actually played the first one but I'm a big fan of EU II and III. my last project in III was attempting to turn the Papel states into the Kingdom of God and then colonizing the new world. It didn't quite work out. Victoria which is the same fair but covers the well...Victorian era is very fun to as well at the mentioned Hearts of Iron for the WWII era. I'm just waiting for a Cold War UE style game that HoI Armageddon kind of teased at.

Wow, it does certainly throw you in... I would be one of those people overwhelmed to the point of screaming, at least at first. :P I got totally engrossed in Civ V for hours on end, so this might be a game for me, too. I haven't seen the original Europa Universalis for download (yet) but Steam has demos of the later games in the series that I will give a try and see if I like them. :)

Umm..LGR? umm.. you might want to check yerself.. yer geek is hanging out and flopping all over this video.. lol Great review. I have absolutely no desire to play games like this but your unabashed love of this stuff and earnest passion to talk about it is enough to make me smile.

Sterling Treadwell
