LGR - Hot Wheels Computer Cars Review

Hot Wheels cars that come with a computer game in the package? Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles and 2,500HP supercars? Sign me up!

Ah yes, I loosely recall these. Also been getting a lot of emails about them since doing this video, will have to track em down.

This reminded me a lot of the "ID4 Mission Disks" that came with Independence Day toys back when that movie came out in 1996. They had some silly little mini game loosely tied to the character the disk came with. http://goo.gl/17cf9d

Yeah, it seemed different than this video still. I couldn't tell you if they came in any similar packaging, though. I don't remember ever getting any hot wheels car with a floppy. Though I probably was only 4 or 5 during this time.

Hmm, so it wasn't like the race courses shown in this video? They're interactive, but only barely.

LGR

Sadly I can't recall, but I'd imagine it couldn't be too much being on a 1.44MB Disk... but some reason I just recall like some sort of race course, like those you could get for real hot wheels... then one day I couldn't get the disk to work again. They were yellow floppies much like yours.

HAH. you got me good. i shall never doubt you as a collector again!

There were some other Hot Wheels cars with software, but they came out for Windows XP to my knowledge, on CD-ROM. May have been a stand-alone Hot Wheels game though, as there were several of those?

LGR

Found some super cheap additional copies to open up just for this video :) Still have a complete sealed set!

LGR

Tis. And it's so YELLOW

LGR

Hmm, I used to have a couple of Hot Wheels floppies as a kid myself. Though this doesn't spark any memory of what were exactly on them. Were there more varied games by Hot Wheels? I thought mine had actual racing of sorts, but that was so long ago I can't recall. Except it was on Windows 3.1. lol

ReeseRiverson

hah! i thought the three loose floppies under the boxes were loose copies you got, so you wouldn't have to open the boxes. i did sort of cringe when you tore open the boxes, didn't think you had it in you... ;)

That's a pretty dang impressive floppy to get with a toy car..

Awesome, happy to share these! And yes, back from vacation now so it's time to WORK :D

LGR

Been wanting to see this since the time you showed us the cars on facebook, these ones never made it down to Mexico. Two new vids in less than 12 hours wowwww... You are the best Clint!
