BEHIND THE SCENES #17 - [S1E8.46] and [S1E8.47]

yooo, back again with another behind the scenes post!!

so!! the first thing to say, is that these two updates were actually gonna be one larger update originally!! but, i decided to split it in half, so i could start doing daily updates right away... but THEN it took me a while to find a good way to do the texting between chase and penny (cause the previous format took FOREVER) SO i didn't end up posting it on time, and just moved it to monday's update..... so in the end it just kinda ended up being the same schedule i would normally do. woops!! >w>''

anyways though, yeah!! these ones were a lot of fun to do--both because i got to do more backgrounds, AND cause writing penny getting all flustered and messing up her words is one of my favorite things!! she is just a liddel stupid... it cannot be helped!! like that jorts the cat post that was trending on twitter a while ago...

i also tried to harkon back to early on in the story with these updates, reusing some poses and stuff from like, all the way back in chapters one and two, and also having penny stumble with her words and say embarrassing things the same way she did when these two first met!! i thought it would be a fun way to show how far they've come since the first few chapters--i still can't believe it's been more than a year since we started!!

so, to show that off, for this post i'll do some comparisons between those original panels and the new ones, as well as showing you off some of the backgrounds i drew!! they aren't terribly complex ones, but i'm getting much faster with the steps of making them now, which makes me rly happy!! so, i wanna show u them!! :D

you may have also seen that the text bubbles had some color to them in the second update this week--that was an idea i had for adding in more dialogue without it getting confusing!! mainly, the colors help if three or more people are talking at once--that way, you can still tell who's who! (btw, the color coding is a lighter version of their texting colors, which i think is a fun detail, hehe!! B))

so, first things first, lets start with the comparison shots!! :D

there's admittedly only like, three of them, BUT i think they're neat!! the art has changed a lot since the start... which makes it all the more fun to compare em, hehe!!
