ANYWAY... this omake!! as you can probably tell from the title, this is part one of a little three part omake side-story!! multi-part omakes were a concept i experimented with a while ago already, as a way to write in some plotlines that don't fit cleanly into the main story--but i hadn't done one in a while, so i thought, why not!! it's also nice cause it lets the characters who haven't shown up in a while have some extra time in the spotlight--which is very nessesary when your story has this many important characters, DNJFGNJH... it's hard to balance so many at once!!! especially when people are so divided on who their favs are...

tbh, at times, i've considered ditching the weekend extras, and just trying to do three full updates each week instead...but then i think about how i would have no chance to draw the other characters for weeks at a time, and i get sad, and stop considering it... am i too attached to these little bitches? perhaps...... but that won't stop me!!!!

OH, and!!! the title of this one is also a great way to mention that a lot of these omakes are literally created using a single randomly generated word, which i sit and think about until a funny scenario based off it pops into my head. it's actually really fun to do!!! the characters basically live inside my head as full on people at this point, so imagining scenarios with them is pretty easy, hehe

there really isn't a WHOLE lot technically to talk about with this one, so instead i'll mention some of the story stuff i thought was interesting!!!

first of all, BABY CHASE--i seriously LOVE drawing baby versions of the characters, i just think they're so fkin cute, DNJFNJGH... we haven't seen a ton of them yet, but i try to include them every chance i get, for maximum cute value. fret not, however--once we get into the backstory of the characters more, we'll be seeing way more baby versions of them!! for example, we'll get to see some of adrian and ava's life together as kids, and how they grew up, and penny and chase's time in middle/highschool together... their backstories will be very important to how their character arcs end up!! i'm honestly really excited for it, hehehe... it's something i've been really hyped to share for a long time!!

and second... chase talking about penny's home life a little more!! we aren't really gonna see much of penny's parents in this story, mostly cause i want this it to be comforting and happy for people to read, and talking about abusive parents in depth isn't really the best way to do that... but, i think it's important to keep it on people's mind how she grew up, for later on when that stuff starts affecting her reactions and feelings about situations more. otherwise, it'll feel like it came out of left field, even if it has precedence!

speaking of that... something i've found really hard in writing this story is getting people to remember things that happened early on, just by nature of it being so damn LONG--a lot of the time, i realize it when i read the comments, and i see people wondering who someone is, or what i'm referencing in a joke, or something like that. i can't blame people though--i mean, *I* certainly don't remember every detail of a story, especially if i read that part of it like a year ago!!

to combat this, though, i've recently tried taking a page out of Let's Play (it's an original webtoon if you haven't heard of it!!), which starts each chapter with a little recap of scenes that give context to the current update, just incase people forgot!! i was like. blown away when i saw that--like, wait, you can just... Do That???? just give it to people directly??? and it reads well???

but it DOES and so now i'm gonna start doing that to start off certain updates!! like, for example, in S1E8.38- not sure who this angry wolf guy is?? or where the spiky fire hair lady he's buddies with came from?? no problem!!! i gotchu covered!! B)!! (the catch-up was added in post though cause i literally just. forgot to do it when i first uploaded it yells. im so stupid sometimes,,, DNFGNHJ)

so, yeah--expect more of those in the future!! B) hopefully it should make the reading experience more fun and easy!!
