Hey Jeremy - different people have different concerns, though I think the environmental/energy one is probably the most consistent concern. I'm also canceling my patronage, though to be totally honest I was already pretty weakly attached due to barely ever commuting anymore.

2021-09-15 23:16:20 +0000 UTCThank you for enabling even better content with getting sponsors! Just please read the mechanics article before reviews. It’s not the first time you get new things wrong, which is even more surprising given the usually great quality.

2021-09-13 16:09:23 +0000 UTCI don't really understand people's issues with Crypto trading platforms. Is it the electricity usage or do you just generally feel that cryptos/NFTs in general are predatory?

2021-09-13 01:42:35 +0000 UTCI looked up FTX for a bit: while their charity earmarks are impressive, I can't shake the feeling that it does not outweigh the damage they are doing as an exchange; like a cigarette company funding lung cancer research. For a real life comparison, it strongly reminds me of the Pro Publica story about Mass Audobon (and other conservationists) selling carbon credits by claiming most of their land as "potential logging"... yes, you're generating money for a good cause (conservation in that case), but at what cost? I've reduced my patronage already, but stopped from full cancellation to allow for the chance to address this in more detail on the podcast.

2021-09-12 21:28:36 +0000 UTCI'm almost at the end of black but need to call it a day at this moment, but I'm so happy with the discussion so far, I can't help to comment here. I've been on a off with Magic ever since my teens with Tempest. Found LR at around the original Innistrad, and enjoyed Marshall and then LSV after that a lot. Last like 4 years I was away from Magic due to real-life circumstances but then got back to it with AFR and now super-excited with MID. It's so cool to see Marshall and LR still going, and also LSV and Gaby Spartz together and with an incoming child? OMG, that's AMAZING, congratulations! And best wishes for all going well! Magic seems to breathe so much life for those around it. So in conclusion I guess I just would like to say: thank you for all your work on the Limited side of each set - you have given me a better experience with Magic even if I'm just a filthy casual that comes back for a few drafts some sets. Keep it up, it's my wish and hope. May all you be well. Regards.

2021-09-11 19:23:16 +0000 UTCYeah, I'm not going to support a podcast that is shilling for a crypto exchange either.

2021-09-11 19:04:58 +0000 UTCI will be canceling my subscription until FTX and all other crypto sponsers are dropped. Expected better from you guys. It's so frustrating to have a show I enjoy as much as this one accept a sponsorship from a crypto company a week after folks drowned in their own basements in New York City. This is not ok
