The Case of Todd Mullis

The latest! Hope you enjoy it everyone! Now back to editing

The Case of Todd Mullis

Comments

I’ve seen another video on this, the son was away from his dad for a short time when he said he went to get a drink of water. The Aztec search seems a bit odd for a grown man. I think Tristan did it. They live on a farm in the middle of nowhere. With pigs. If he’d done it, wouldn’t he just have buried her somewhere or fed her to the pigs?!

Jane Ebbon

Where was the animal abuse?

Karen Kristine

I don’t think there was enough evidence for him to be found guilty.

Michelle Machaka

I thought the same thing!!

Juril Ducusin

I think it was the husband for sure. Thanks Mike!! You're the best!! Still an advocate for the "Let's give it a gooooo!!" shirts haha

Juril Ducusin

I think you should dive into the southern hemisphere a bit more! Australia has some ...good? Ones. Katherine Knight will put you off food for at least a week, they never caught 'mr cruel', we just solved a 20 year old cold case (Claremont Serial Killer), the beaumont missing children, the wanda beach murders, and recently, the family annihilator Anthony Robert Harvey. Why do they always say the three names?

Hannah, the precious lil onion of the east

Odd, Todd Mullis, had a farm, e, I, e, I, o, and on this farm, he had a wife, e, I, e, I, o. With a pet porter here and a corn rake there, the plot of murder was in the air. He killed his wife, then he got life, e, I, e, I, o.

Eddie Glass

Yeah I dont think he was guilty I think they were pretty lazy with their investigation. Not enough evid3nce at all. Thanks Mike for another GREAT video😘😘😘😘😘

Whytwolf

That wink tho.

Kyle Leonard

I’ve seen this case on another channel. I personally don’t believe there was enough evidence to find him guilty.

Rosemary R.

It could have been an accident . . . . . Why don't people go to the library to search for ways to kill? Everyone always does it on their computer and they find it later.

Karen Vega

Why would there be a rake just lying on the barn floor on a farm, with the spears turned up? That is like asking for an accident to happen. I grew up on a farm and almost everyone I knew lived and worked on farms, and safety was hard wired into our brains. As soon as a tool wasn't in use, it would go back in it's place and rakes would always be placed on the wall, spears pointing inwards. But....I guess not everybody thinks like that. But if it was an accident - how do they explain the two extra stab wounds? Sure, the husband had a motive. But I think the son did it. 13 years old (a very turbulent age, in and of itself) and very strong from working at the farm and therefore very capable of killing her. He was very angry with his mother for the infidelity committed by her against his father, who he probably liked more than his mother. The Aztek stuff is probably something he had learned about in school quite recently, and hence the internet searches about the Aztek practices.

SaGu

Welcome! This is an awesome little corner of the internet!

SaGu

Mike you never disappoint! I know this is a lot of work. We are so lucky to have you twice a week! Thanks a million times. 👍🙏🏼

jennifer h

Aw ...animal and domestic abuse . The worst.

Jojo

Just joined Mike's patreon this morning, totally worth it for this gem..."bits & yolks"...this is the content I was missing in my life.

Elizabeth Barlow

Thanks, Mike! Have a great week!

Paula Bernardes-Silva

If premeditatedly killing your wife with a farm implement isn't evil then what is it considered? Being a huge asshole?

Taco John

I’ll concede that. But then you have to assume she also had a strange convulsive event for more than 4 rake tine punctures. The son said he had to pull it from her back. So she landed on it really hard, pulled her body up, detaching the rake from her back, then falling backward again hard enough to impale her to the point it needed to be ripped out?!

Taco John

She could of had a syncopal event though and passed out falling backwards - I’ve seen this a bit with patients I care for. Especially if she was already dizzy and experiencing blood loss. Maybe she was climbing up to get the cage? Then maybe she sat up, realised what had happened and passed out again causing the second injury. I mean, it’s a bit of a leap! But freak accidents do happen.

Amy Knopp

"kinda" ....

Jamie Di

I don't necessarily think he is evil for killing his cheating wife. Jealousy and crimes of passion are probably the easiest to understand. But...when a parent sends their child in to discover the body that is EVIL.

brenda redmond

Personally, 6 stab wounds makes me think she was severely injured, tried to get up and fell back down again. But I have to assume that would be pretty obvious to the medical examiner and they had a better reason to determine it was homicide than simply “not only 4 stab wounds”. Another impression I have is that, yes... if it was an accident—— I’m sure Todd is really really really regretting all the emotional and psychological abuse of his wife that made him look so guilty of murder.

Nika

Hmmm ... gosh.

Zebra

This is a real interesting one. Yes 6 holes is suspicious....but then stabbing someone twice and getting 2 of the holes aligned so perfectly is an interesting one. Love the content Mike. I used to look forward to ties and fri. Now I get excited on mon and thurs. xx

Gem

Sound like a bunch of murderers yourselves. So YOU get to choose whose life is valuable and whose is not? I hope you’re never, ever in a position to decide.

ReSearcher

In the U.S. Corn Rake = pitchfork Red shed = Barn I 💜 Mike.

ReSearcher

It never ceases to amaze me how people think the only option they have is to kill someone rather than leaving them or maybe starting over in life... I personally cant even fathom how killing someone solves my problem. YOU ARENT GONNA GET AWAY WITH IT , even if you did, unless you're NUTS , you'll be miserable.

Nick Kreiger

Well done ! Take care man !

Nick Kreiger

Funny enough, I wouldn’t immediately google Aztec culture with any situation in my life. It just doesn’t make sense for an adult to do. Now maybe if he had some interest in it previously or recently watched a movie, but I see no correlation of Aztec culture to the husband unless it is entirely random. I mean, hey, I have fallen down the rabbit hole with my internet usage sometimes, like the captain in Wall-E.

Ginger Antonelli

The same can be said for the son. The ipad was used by the entire family. It wasn’t solely for the husband’s use.

Ginger Antonelli

Glad you stopped saying I love you at the end of the vids, now you’ve got a million subs, you’ll have to watch out for stalkers! Don’t wanna star in your own video! 😜

Lorna Mangan

I've been in the situation searching for questions regarding cheating spouses - though not to this extend. He was probaly suffering from cognitive dissociation, between the normalized acts of his wifes cheating & the traumatic experiences he was going through.

Michael

Or you typically make some kind of a last second jump to avoid that at least.

Taco John

I could see that... but I mean you gotta admit that all human reflexes are fighting against that kind of a fall - directly onto your back like that. People usually over-correct and push a stool backwards before they just fall backwards like a tree, right?!

Taco John

In popular culture - at least in the US where maybe we learn more about Native American cultures? - the Aztecs are just the go-to culture we associate with brutality. There's that mental image of an Aztec king standing over a pile of beheaded human sacrifices on some big pyramid or whatever with a big crowd of people. So if you were fantasizing about how to inflict your "brutal justice on a cheating wife" then it would make some sense for that to be the first culture to pop into your head to look to for ideas.

Taco John

AGREED

Rita Ritz

I dont know, I made some innocuous falls a lot worse by flailing. It's a split second before you go down and you make some odd choices sometimes

M.j.j. Sch

The Aztec search thing matches up with the manner of death... just a brutal, manual death not unlike stoning or whatever primitive cultures would do. But it's done in a way you could get away with as a "compromise" perhaps? I think you could imagine that this guy was building up a fantasy of HOW to inflict the death she "deserved". Now, just Aztec is kind of weird. But they ARE popularly known as one of the top "brutal punishment" cultures. So if you were to pick one, that might be the one (Old Testament Biblical is also obvious one to search).

Taco John

All the evidence that he wanted to kill her is what puts the nail in the coffin. The kid should in no way be relied upon as a witness. Raked in the back wile reaching for the thing - "hey, there it is - grab it!" (RAKE IN BACK). People don't fall backwards DIRECTLY onto their backs hard - into spikes - because they got dizzy. You break the fall with your hands, you pull your upper body forward to land on your ass. If you just pass out and go limp? You don't fall directly backwards - your legs crumble and you fall downward. You don't fall like a fucking tree.

Taco John

Seems like the angle of the puncture wounds, wether they were straight in or angled down would tell a lot

William Brian Hawkins

Same. I thought, "Eh, she kills thousands of pigs. At least I only have to feel bad for the kids this time."

This World Sucks

That's exactly what I thought. She didn't fall all the way the first time and then fell back after trying to get up. But, I think Todd was a controlling, psycho POS and kinda don't care if he didn't do it. His kids are better off without him.

This World Sucks

I don’t think he did it! I have seen this story before and I just don’t believe that there is enough evidence of his guilt. Thanks Mike ☮️

Peri Jetton

They "quickly ruled it a homicide" when they saw 6 stab wounds. First of all, shouldn't there be 8 if it was a 4 pronged fork. And is it not possible for her to have fallen backward on the fork, staggered to try to get up but fell back again?

Maureen Newey

what the actual fuck @ “what happened to cheating wives in aztec tribes” even if you’re planning to murder your wife, why in the world would that specific thought enter your mind??? so random wth

Alice

Love that I get these on Monday mornings. Keeps me entertained at work

Gabriella Rigoulot

Same.

Susana M.

Thank you much Mike! 🔺️

Weezie Tara Crihfield

I thought he said “fuck it’s cold” when he was doing the chest compressions, not “cheating whore”

Jade Wooding

A Rake? The guy owns a pig farm! If he wanted to kill someone, wouldn’t just he feed them to the pigs? Pigs... the one animal on the farm that will eat you!

Full Moon Mama

Thanks Mike

Jane Pohl

I’m still suspicious of the son. A 13 year old who is used to working on a farm is strong. The mother was weak from surgery. The son walked to the house and back for a drink. He could have easily been upset that his mom was cheating. The Aztec search was odd. I always thought it was possibly linked to whatever the boy was learning in school that year. He had a motive as well. If he wanted to continue living with his dad and working on the farm, he could also feel threatened by his mom leaving. Many times, we don’t give our kids enough credit for truly knowing what is going on.

Ginger Antonelli

Isn't it the best waking up, thinking hey its monday let's check for Mike & BOOM U LOOKING FOR THIS 😂❤

Wut Tha BUCK

This is exactly what I needed today! Thank you Mike for all your hard work, and awesome content!

Angela Word

Thank you Mike for another great video on a grotty Bank Holiday Monday. Not too sure about that recording - can’t be totally sure what it says.

Thalia Brown

TIL what a corn rake is. Thanks, Mike!

Vallie

PS: I heard "Cheating Whore" the very first time we heard it... long before the court case bit.

Amanda Baby-Pie

As soon as I saw that happy-snap of her proudly standing over a dead deer, then all the pig slaughtering.... I couldn't care less how many times she got forked.

Amanda Baby-Pie

Can't imagine anyone else with a motive, other than the wife of the guy she was cheating with, but that seems pretty unlikely, and the police probably checked her alibi as well. I vote the son is covering for the father, out of denial, because what kid wants to believe their dad would kill their mom.

Rhonda Jockisch Tisdale

Thank you Mike!!!

Aria

I strongly believe that he did kill his wife, but have my doubts about this being premeditated. If he had chosen a better lawyer then perhaps he would have gotten away with Voluntary Manslaughter, this being a "crime of passion". Who knows what was exchanged just before he killed her?

Ante Cedo

The audience's appreciation increases when Mike covers a "Whodunnit" type of case on a rainy Bank Holiday Monday. I've looked into this case before & I'm not convinced that Todd Mullis is guilty, though it seems his lawyer was; could he have seemed any more disinterested?!

Juliet A Rossetti

Oh yeah the husband def said those things. Thank you Mike for all the great videos.

Rose Tyler

Thanks Mike😊 We appreciate you!

Stephanie Barclay

Mike!! What do you think happened? Do you think he did it?

Jade Wooding

Mike, your videos are the only reason Mondays are bearable and sometimes even quite enjoyable.

Ante Cedo

I concur. I love the consistency with which you produce high quality content with a twist of Irish humour. Thank you Mike. Can't wait to watch.

Martin Jensen

HA! I like how he said, "Guilty until proven innocent" on accident. Little slip there. Thank you, Mike. Have a great week!

Lisa B

Just want to say, Thanks Mike for all your amazing, and consistently brilliant content. When the notification comes through I have a new video to watch I can't wait for the evening when I can settle down and watch it. Will be watching later, but I already know its gonna be great :D

Jayne Hayward

Literally just waking up, made my coffee, sat down and this notification came out. What a way to start my Monday morning 🌞
