Usually you end up with a decent spread, but there are occasions when if things are not coordinated you end up with a lot of the same dish. And it’s even worst when it’s a dish most people don’t like. Sometimes you get a dickhead who was responsible for something deciding they will get a sugar free cake instead of a cake, or a vegan option instead of the meat they volunteered to get. In this case it would be all the diviners deciding they will work on the main course, so you end up with a bunch of people bringing a Turkey for thanksgiving and no one bring and side dishes, drinks, or desserts.
