This finale has made me SO HYPED to continue this show! Seeing what's happening to Cordy is WILD! Also Angel being stranded - no thanks! Connor being mislead, Lorne & Groo saying goodbye and Wesley sleeping with the enemy?! It's just all going on!!!

A great finale! Season 3 is probably Angel's best for me (although I am fond of season 2). Each of the characters has come into their own at this point, and Fred makes a fantastic addition to the team. Holtz is a compelling villain and for the first time the show gives us a proper story arc from start to finish. And what can you say about Wesley? Hard to believe the man we see in this episode is the same person we first met on Buffy! It's not all perfect. After Cordy becomes part demon halfway through the season, that storyline seems to go nowhere, she just gets some vaguely defined powers that are convenient to the plot. I've heard it said that her decision to become a higher being in the finale is out of character. I don't agree, to me it's always felt like a natural conclusion to this story arc, although it does seem rather premamture at this point. Wolfram & Hart never seem that essential to the story this season, they're kinda just there, reacting to what's going on around them rather than being involved in a meaningful way. Considering they made Connor's birth possible by bringing Darla back it feels like a missed opportunity. And Sahjhan's plot still doesn't make any sense to me when you add it all together! I don't know if anyone mentioned this previously, apparently one of the original plans for season 3 was to have Kate come back and team up with Holtz, but because Elisabeth Rohm wasn't available they had to create the new character of Justine. And I guess that might have been interesting, and it might not have played out the same as what we got, but I'm glad they didn't go down that road, I like where they left her in season 2. Brace yourself for season 4 because it's a hot mess! It has possibly the most hateful storyline in the entire Buffyverse, but some really great things as well which I'm sure you'll enjoy.

2023-08-26 08:45:47 +0000 UTCI have so many thoughts about this episode. First, I love Angel and Cordy together. It is such a mature relationship. I hate that they took Cordy away from you…. I mean, Angel! Second, every time I watch the interaction between Groo and Cordy, it makes me like him more and more. I can’t help but think about how Riley reacted when he knew Buffy didn’t love him equally, as opposed to how Groo responds here. Third, Wesley’s “I wasn’t thinking about you when you were here.” Ouch! Finally, as stated above by others, I do like the contrast of Cordy going up while Angel goes down. And also, Connor is a little sh!t
