I'm always hung up on whether to care more about challenging interesting perspective angles or making the character recognizable.
It's difficult do draw TRIGGER girl faces at odd angles in particular.
I always end up giving up and doing basic shit like this.
EDIT: Roughing out the paint work. I'm gonna mix things up and do a blend of cell and softshading with some lineart as well. Gonna paint the lineart on tho and only in certain places. I dunno. Gonna feel it out.
I'm new in your Patreon, and I always wanted to congratulate how amazing this artwork was. Also, I hope you can expand this concept someday, because imagine how hot would be the other witches trying to replicate Amanda's style; that would be a dream come true for me!

I can understand the struggle and I guess it wonβt help if I tell you that you are still leagues ahead of what I can do. Still if you feel stuck on something, I find that it helps to do a lot of quick iterations on the subject matter. Like doing a sketch like you did, check if it works, if it does great, if not try to figure out why, then make a new sketch based on your assumption and see if it is better. It takes time practice to learn something new and the phase where you know something is wrong but canβt fix it yet sucks. In my experience repeating the exercise constantly and slowly working out the solution is the only thing that helps. Frustrating as that may be, donβt give up. I know you can do it :)

Basic stuff is easier and less time consuming, but different angles is more meaningful because it challenges you. I would say challenge yourself because it improves your skills but if it would be too time consuming stay with what's simple. After all nobody wants to be working on a project for so long that they start hating the project.

Love the tiddy in general. As a consumer I'm biased, but I personally love this work of yours. Wish you the best of luck on it.

I'm not an artist so I can't give an opinion on which is the better course to take
However I do know that usually if you're good at something you should follow your instincts on something
And you're clearly good at artπ³

I think you've got a great piece here Pudge, even if you deem it less challenging

An interesting question for sure. I've had the same issue occasionally when I commission artists. It obviously helps to include recognizable clothing or objects that pertain to the character, but if you're trying to do something more original or maybe even NSFW where they don't have their cliche clothes it makes it harder.

It might be less challenging, but it's still quite gorgeous.
