Premium 101: The Uberization of Fortune Telling

This episode started out as a vulgar analysis of dumb corporate fuck-ups and quickly morphed into a Marxist analysis of climate politics in the early 2010s, and how the upcoming election is a revival of those politics on even cruder and more farcical terms. Hope you enjoy!

The coal/2016 election issue was discussed a lot early on in the show...like the first dozen shows. I'm paraphrasing but I think the general sentiment was more about the vast number of people not voting than any election promises made by Trump.

Didn't Trump win in coal country because people believed that he was going to magically bring back the coal jobs? Do they really support the idea of a Green New Deal like you do?

What if the drive of the ruling class to financialize and create meaningless products is itself a form of transcendence of capitalism? What if Elizabeth Holmes and the people who ran Enron were the first people to achieve this form of spiritual infinity? What if, in the year 2020, in addition to astral projection, we live in a world where the people who achieve this degenerate enlightenment are capable of capital projection?
