I think that’s fair tbh. Having a franchise ban to give other less known brands a chance would be nice.

I still think the ban rule should apply to the whole franchise. A rule far from perfect, but it will reduce the importance of ultra-popular franchises.

Truth is most of this is just salt over not getting what they want and for how little your asking its not really right of them to act this way.

Even if you extended the ban, people would still complain because the polls would still be won by characters from Pokemon, Marvel, DC, My Hero Academia...

There's already a 3 month ban after a character got drawn. I don't choose which characters are being suggested and I don't control what people are voting for. The best I can do potentially is to extend the ban to 6 months or more. Guess I'll make another post to ask people later.

Well there are other artists out there. Also sorry to say this with change rules and soft caps some characters are just not going to get votes there just not.

I think a lot of people just want variety, but more people just want the same thing. I'd agree that there should be a soft cap for characters we just got art of, to make it feel like our payment counts for something, but at the end of the day it's the artist's call to do what they want to do and create what they want to create.

I get some are upset at the turn out i would like to see mine but if you realy wanna see character get drawn a poll not always the best. You may need to just save and pay for a commission.

I think a lot of you all are being so rude to the lovely artist. But I also do agree that maybe some new rules need to be included. I do like the idea of "if a comic was made about X person, then X person won't be allowed on the poll". But also I torn because I do like that we can every so often get a picture telling about what happened after the comic. Maybe, for example. Once Raven has been drawn she is place on a year ban or something? I dunno. But I do agree we do tend to see at least one MHA, Nintendo or Raven on the polls win

Yes, people absolutely are getting annoyed with seeing the same franchises like Pokemon and MHA dominating the polls. There's no doubt popular characters and popular franchises will get votes, even when the idea is perceived as being bad like the comments have said this Raven idea is. However the way these frustrations are being expressed is pretty rude. I say go with Random's suggestion. Try it out for a bit. Sure, you'll still get the big names dominating, but you'll also get characters like Kitora who never stood a chance of getting into the top 20, let alone the top 2. Obviously you don't want a race to be dead last either, but Soap could probably ignore characters that were close to winning for his pick. That would at least get a new face drawn. Plus suggestion streams are a great way to get characters drawn. I do sort of like the idea of characters from current comics being ignored since they're getting regular art, but that shouldn't stop them being suggested after the comic is finished. TLDR; I agree with Random Man, give it a few months and see how it plays out.

Yeah I agree with panamoss no matter how many options there are if it’s MHA, Nintendo, or Raven from TT it’s going to obliterate everything else that could be fun to see.

Whoa, we need to slow the roll here. Like, we can't change the rules because the results are frustrating. The rules have been set, it's unfair to change them mid-stream. If we need to do anything, we should probably wait a bit to see how the new system hashes out. At the least, doing one artist's pick is DEFINITELY a huge improvement. And there's always suggestion streams, too! We got a Shrinking Violet picture, who is a great pick you don't normally see compared to the standard DC choices that get suggested. I haven't gone in to them recently because I didn't have picks prepared, but it's one of the easiest ways to get a cool suggestion in (even if it's going to be a quicker, less elaborate pic). On the other hand, I do agree that polls are typically dominated by a few big franchises that are constantly at the top. Asui and Raven are individually in a bunch of stuff, but MHA/Pokemon/Marvel/DC really dominate a lot of the art in the polls. I'd probably put RWBY up there more recently, and maybe Nintendo girls and Disney princesses more generally a second tier. And that does suck, but at the same time it's hard to balance. People obviously want those characters, but how do you balance that demand against getting some fresher stuff in? Is it just Raven, or do we have to block all DC girls? Just Asui, or block all MHA girls for a bit? I'm probably on the latter side (and I say that as someone who loves seeing supehero girls), but I get the problems with that. I know my own suggestion habits used to be more about what I thought could win (Which is why I suggested X-Men women a lot) compared to what I might want to see new art of. This time around I went with something that got trounced, but maybe Soap will pick. Or they won't. But at least there is a better shot than there was before of getting the art. ;-) So what's my suggestion? Well, let's wait. It's a new system, give it at least a little time. I suspect we're going to see similar patterns at the top as we have in the past, but it's also a popularity poll. At the least, let's stay civil and not get too angry about it. EDIT: I just realized that Frankie is going to take the second pic, which is funny as she's one of those weird favorites who gets a decent amount of art out there but is largely unconnected with most of the big franchises. Redheads, amirite?

I care about my patreons. This was a pretty disrespectful comment. I think I explained clearly why changing the rules to accomodate people who are unhappy with the result of the polls is not a good idea. If I accept to do that, I'll have to keep doing that every time there are complaints, which means I'll have to change the rules almost every month. That lead to lack of clarity and a sentiment of unfairness for the people who likes these characters. Also, there's some suggestions I'm not really happy to draw. I either don't like the character or the idea. I draw them regardless because my rules are made in way to please the largest number of people.

So you don't care about your supporters, only what makes you satisfied as long as it involves Teen Titans or MHA? Goodness, you've fallen HARD... I guess you've just stopped caring about why you got where you are.

I'm not going to change the rules each time people are unsatisfied. People are always complaining under the polls and asking me to change the rules. If I accept to redo a poll because people are complaining, that means I have to redo the poll or change the rules every time there's some complaints. If I do that, people will ask me to change the rules undefinitely each time they are displeased by the result of a poll.

I'm hearing the opposite from the unsatisfied comments.

Maybe don't include characters that have had comics dedicated to them? Half of these characters never will get opportunities to be drawn if the poll is rigged in the favor of ones that are constantly drawn over and over.

I’m still trying to come up with an idea for my Nonon suggestion since she looks like she has a decent chance to win 2nd, and I’m a bit iffy on wether or not I want to still continue the baby pageant story idea since I’m afraid it might get repetitive to other patrons also I’m having a hard time coming up with something original to add to that story line, do you or anyone else reading this have any ideas? Note: that I’m more into humiliation, blushy girls, and cute outfits more then anything else so I’ll definitely be leaning more into that.
