I will have to adapt during the next months.
That means probably not taking any breaks in January and February, as usual, and stopping all projects like comics and video games until I am financially stable once again to dedicate more time to them.
If I'm forced to go on SubscribeStar, I think I will do four fan art pieces a month (essentially working part-time) and try to find a part-time job on the side.
If Patreon survives until December, I will jump to SubscribeStar in January anyway instead of stressing every day under the threat of termination.

I have always considered myself a hobbyist and not a professional artist, so I am very lucky to have been able to make a living out of art.

Another substantial amount of work on the game! I've dedicated more time to it this month and I'm hyped about the upcoming demo!
Starting by integrating Maddie's TV show segment.
Also, created a title screen for Star Hop; there's even an intro song. I chose a sci-fi-sounding music for the show, and it was pretty fun.
Maddie's segment is only half done; there were other graphic elements that needed attention, like a placeholder picture for one of the previous scenes.
And a ton of small corrections on backgrounds.
Primarily color swaps and more muted tones for better readability. Some colors were a bit too strong on the walls or grounds, and more neutral tones help the elements in the scene pop out. The only background that needed a bit more work was Ms. Melrose's house, where there are now more bushes and clothes drying under the porch.
There was more revisiting of character designs, starting with Brittney. However, I'm still not convinced, and I'll probably touch her up a bit.
Wasn't fond of Ms. Topaz's design, so it was a pleasure to rework her!
And my favorite redesign so far: Ms. Mack!
Finally, we have a workable map! The graphics are still a placeholder for now, but the mechanic itself was a real headache. I needed code that I can still use for the future in-game days, and there were a lot of problems. But it's working now!
So you can navigate between the map and different backgrounds once outside.
And that's about it for today!
Next week, I plan to finish the Maddie segment and integrate other scenes into the game!

I continued integrating the rest of the first TV choice into the game. Lola imitates everything Lamby does.
Including gulping down bottles. But that's not all!
The show ends with a (messy) bang! Poor June doesn't know what she signed up for. Of course, it's still a placeholder picture; I will rework it or collaborate with an artist to redraw it.
That's one show done, now for the other...
The linework and colors are done for Star Hop, Maddie's favorite show! I had a ton of fun with these ones; I tried a kind of Star Trek-y vibe for the uniforms.
With the show redesign, I had to edit the small animated snippet of Star Hop you can see on TV when June wakes up in the morning.
I love coming back to characters with fresh eyes and improving the designs. This time, I reworked Megan and Melrose!
Revisiting those sprites sometimes includes reworking the bodies or diapers. So it's more work than just remodeling the face or haircut. Megan is definitely giving me a hard time; I will probably touch up the hair again when I have the opportunity.
Finally, here's some of the work I've been doing in Twine, the narrative software. It's a bit of a challenge to have modular storytelling, and this tool is going to help us a ton! Each of these blocks represents extensive guidelines that I will later discuss with Personalias and ask him to develop.
In this case, those guidelines and branches represent the sequence of events during the evening. They are going to change depending on June's reset level and if she's transitioning to a new reset level or not.
And that's about it for today!
I've been working like crazy on the game during my time off to meet the next demo deadline. So expect more content than usual on the game during this month!

I'm back to integrating dialogues into the game! June finally finds something to occupy her two "sisters": a puzzle.
Unfortunately, I'm not skilled enough to code a puzzle yet, so there's just a simple placeholder. I found some examples online, but they need some tweaks, so I'll work on it during my next break.
The puzzle reveals a promotional picture from one of the Hive's shows, triggering a discussion about TV. This conversation later leads to a relationship choice where June has to decide which show they should watch.
To integrate the images for advertisements and shows, I had to draw this new background.
Initially, I hesitated about reducing the TV frame and zooming out to allow the characters to appear on the sides and react to the TV. But I wanted Vaabs' pictures to be big enough to enjoy them, and this close-up version is the best way to showcase these images.
The first show I started to integrate is 'Lil'Lamby.' I worked on the title screen and on some dialogues. Each show is going to contain different dialogues, music and scenes, so I'm really excited to start working on them!
Finally, the sketches made by Vaabs from last week are inked and colored. I love this set and the design of the various characters Vaabs came up with.
And that's about it for today!
Next week, I plan to redesign some characters and maybe integrate more scenes into the game.
