Poll Analytics!

[Sorry for the double post!] Yesterday's poll is still accepting responses, but at this point more than half of my pledges have replied, giving me a good idea of what it is you're hoping to see from me in the near future. For those of you who love analytics or just want to see which way the wind is blowing, I've included screenshots of the poll's multiple-choice options. For the serial novel, people were all across the board in terms of genre, but the most votes went to the various types of Comedy, with an emphasis on hijinks. If I were to aggregate this, I'd go with Lighthearted Comedy with a side order of Mystery and a light sprinkling of action or romance. Setting was much more representative; you lot like modern fantasy! That's good; so do I. In deference to the people who like fairy tales, I think I'm gonna go with a modern fairy tale feel, which should go nicely with the above genre selection. One vote was for historical fantasy, but my research allergy means that I may be able to reference something historical, but I'm not very good at accurate cultural representation. Go figure. I was really pleased to see the checkbox selection for what kinds of game and story you lot like: Everything! And so, everything is what I shall continue to make. :D That said, I was intrigued that when it came to a favorite genre, the console RPG style game came out with more votes than any other genre. I may have a collaborative work of that type coming, so keep your eyes peeled. :) Thanks again, and if you haven't voted yet, there's still time! Cheers, Colin

Eva: yeah, that's the one serious weakness of RPG Maker VX Ace. All of my IF projects should be cross-platform, though, and GameMaker games can be released for both Windows and Mac. I generally prefer to release games to the web when possible.

I wanted to mention that I'd love for games to be playable on a Mac. I've been struggling with getting Candy King to run under some sort of Wine emulation, but I'm not having any luck.
