After spending her afternoon relaxing by the sea, Irina Jelavić, dressed in a sleek black one-piece swimsuit beneath a thin shirt, stepped gracefully away from the beach. Her damp blonde hair shimmered under the streetlights as she carried a small tote bag, heading back toward the luxury hotel where she was staying.
The atmosphere was far too quiet for a tourist town—enough to trigger the instincts of an assassin. She slowed her steps, pausing to glance into the glass of a storefront. And there… two male silhouettes reflected behind her.
“Being tailed, huh?”
Irina quickened her pace, but as soon as she turned into a short alley near the hotel, two more shadows emerged to block her path. Footsteps rushed in from behind—an ambush perfectly set.
She reached for the hidden weapon in her bag, but the assault came too fast from every direction. Her body, clad in the one-piece, was slammed hard against a wall before her arms were swiftly pinned. A thick rope coiled tightly around her torso, forcing her down onto a folding steel chair the assailants had prepared.
Irina clenched her jaw, breath uneven from the struggle, yet a mocking smile still curved across her lips even under restraint.
“You really picked a terrible time to attack… I was just about to enjoy wine at the hotel,” she sneered, her voice sharp despite being bound tightly to the chair.
The rival assassins circled her like predators savoring their prey. The shadows of danger began to smother what should have been her peaceful night
