I know, I know but... hear me out :D
As a big fan of classic looking playing cards, I've always used existing face cards as a guide and modified them. I have not reinvented the wheel in this regard, because there is no need for it. Even though I have used many different court cards (Arrco, Dondorf, Vintage USPCC & the standard court cards with many variations) it's getting more and more difficult with every new deck idea to really make something special that doesn't feel like a repitation. Honestly said, sometimes I find it hard not to get bored of my own work.
And yes, look what I have made with the new logo. But it's not about the back design in this post, which probably deserved its own post as well. I wanted to share with you how much I'm enjoying redesigning the face cards with a jumbo index.

It's an unusual look because we're so used to the standard pips. But nothing captures the spirit of casino decks more than these jumbo indexes.
The courts have still the standard faces, but in bridge size. In terms of width, everything had to be pushed together a little. The Wynn Playing Cards serve as a template for me.

Working on the bridge size courts is time consuming, but it is a different kind of work. One that I can do completely stress-free. It has almost a therapeutic approach. That's probably why I'm enjoying it so much :D
If this post gets enough likes, I'll be happy to show you step by step how I resize a court in one of the next posts.
Much love
Daniel
