The Bard \\ original illustration

This character will likely be the next one I play in the upcoming D&D campaign, although I'm not sure when that will be. The idea for this character has been on my mind for a while now, and I already have some ideas for how I can expand on their story beyond just D&D. I'm considering options like writing a story or creating a comic book.
However, my only problem is that I can't come up with a name for this character. I want their name to be a diminutive of a longer name, like Will for William, but I'm looking for something more unique than "Will-William." I've been considering "Al" as a nickname for Alexander, but I'm not entirely sure. Do any of you have suggestions?

I feel the name struggle for DnD characters haha. How about shortening the name but leave something form the middle instead of the initial letters? For example Lex for Alexander, Ty or Tio for Mathias/Matthew. You get the idea :)
