What are your thoughts on slumping players and how they should be dealt with? Also what do you do with a slumping franchise? the Reds need major help. (I know I'm breaking the rules here so I'm expecting Astros-level punishment)

Jon Wondrasek

I'd put all my money on Stanton retiring with the all time hr record

Harper-Leighton Scott

Guillermo Heredia was worth 0.3 bWAR in 2021 but arguably worth a lot more for the Braves as a "great clubhouse" guy. Do you put a lot of weight into stuff like that?

Bo Brown

Can you provide any insight on how you make the selections for your video ideas. Are you aware of many of these kind of wacky players/seasons/teams or are the recommended…

Asaf Cohen

Realistically, what is the least amount of wins a MLB team could get in a 162 game season?

Troy Lahrman

If you could build your own ballpark from scratch, however you wanted, how would you configure the outfield dimensions? Deep center field? Short porch? Would you make it pitcher friendly? Would you make it rightly power biased or lefty power biased? Would love to know your ideal ballpark layout

Jeremy Jones

Glad you asked about Hosmer because I was starting to regret already posting my question about something different. As of early afternoon 5/5/22 dude's slashing .378/.457/.573 with 58% groundball rate, 7.2% flyball rate (SEVEN POINT TWO FOLKS), 23rd percentile in average EV, 36th percentile in barrel rate...I suspect the .424 BABIP comes down at some point but HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

Chris Collum

With the NL West and AL East being so strong and expanded playoffs, could we see further changes of the divisions? Could possibly add 2 teams and make it similar to NFL, with 4 divisions of 4 teams in each conference. Vegas and Portland/Charlotte? Also please tell me how much you love Steven 'Rich Homie' Kwan and Taylor WARd

Nicholas Fu

please talk to me about mookie’s sprint speed

tristan puig

$100 on Brandon Lowe

DiscoKazuma

As a relatively new baseball fan, can you help me understand what's so great about Jeter's famous 'flip play' in the 2001 ALCS? Or is it just plain overrated?

DiscoKazuma

Way too early deadline predictions?

teeballer25

What are your thoughts on MLB switching to metal bats?

Taylor Hensley

I’m relatively new to the sport of baseball and have been starting to go to more in-person MLB games. I’ve noticed that players do all sorts of things during play that aren't always captured by TV cameras. A good example is the catcher running over to the dug-out by 1st in case of a wild throw. Do you have any things an observer could watch for during an in-person that you’ve found interesting?

Evan Flechsig

Shane McClanahan is obviously really good and has potential to be (or maybe already is) the ace of the Rays rotation. But I think we don’t give enough credit yet to Drew Rasmussen, who in my opinion is every bit as good as McClanahan and seems to be taking that next step forward so far this year. Am I too high on Rasmussen? Too low on McClanahan? What do you think?

chris m

Which current MLB player with a head of hair will be completely bald by the time they retire?

Brad Borrell

It's pretty much well known that the ball is deader this year in an effort to get away from three true outcomes baseball. If we get back to 2010-2013 HR rates while also getting back to higher batting averages, more balls in play, and more steals... a lot of people would be for that. But currently we have 2010-2013 HR rates with 2021 batting averages and strikeout rates. Basically three true outcomes baseball with just fewer home runs. Is this something we can chalk up to batters not adjusting to the dead ball yet and the baseball meta needs time to adjust to a mindset of "put the ball in play" and "steal bases" but since they've trained players to swing for the fences for years, it's going to take years to adjust back? Is it because pitchers have gotten much better in the last 10 years and not simply due to batter approach? If that's the case, are we going to see the mound lowered a couple of inches sometime in the future to account for that? Or is this something where the teams see the lower batting averages and lower home run rates but still think the swing for the fences approach is the most successful one available and this is the new reality for baseball?

Baseball's Not Dead

Why do you think MLB hasn't been anywhere near as successful as the NFL in attracting audiences outside of the Americas? Take the UK (where I'm from) for example, where the NFL has become one of the biggest markets outside of the USA, yet there has been only one MLB game played here (back in 2019) even though there's almost certainly some level of potential here.

Dan Russell

How are we feeling about the Twins’ pitching? I’ve definitely been surprised at the results they’ve been getting (especially the starters) and I’m cautiously optimistic. Also shoutout Jhoan Duran

Paul

I would love to see a video about the Padres. Somewhat surprising imo.

WashyCrab

Do you think the nationalistic style thinking that goes into team sports loyalty is detrimental for society?

Keegan Tatum

Could this be the Mariners year? I know for a while you have said you were waiting to see until Julio would get a full year, but that has come sooner than expected. They also post a core with pretty rock solid pitching, as well as an offense with JP Crawford (who is top 90th percentile in xwOBA, xBA, K%, and Chase Rate) and Ty France (who is top 90 in xwOBA, xBA, and K%, as well as with xSLG) and other surprise pieces, like Tom Murphy. Also Bonus Question can you try to say my last name the first time?

Max Greineder

How high on your "Get This Dude in the Hall of Fame" list is Curt Flood? And are there any other players you'd like to see get elected to the Hall because of their contributions to the sport of baseball in general, as opposed to strictly their talent/statistical output?

Will

When choosing topics for videos, have you made any conscious effort to feature teams that you haven’t focused much on in the past? By my count, the teams that have never been featured for a Baseball Bits are the Brewers and Padres (some have just been featured in a supporting role, such as the Guardians being the opponent for Verlander’s impossible inning and Chapman’s “baseball isn’t fair”). Would you actively search more for topics for these teams since you haven’t covered them much, or are you just waiting for the right topic?

Evan A

Don't mind my full patreon name, it's a joke for another page. If you made an all-time team for each mlb franchise which non-Colorado team would have the worst starting pitcher? Also quick bonus Q if you're up for it: Do you have a favorite pro Counter-Strike team/player?

Nolan Murphy

what is your hottest taylor ward take?

James Nagengast

New here so excuse me if I'm doing anything wrong, but how do you think hosmer will hold up this season? He has a near .400 avg so far. Do you think he will return to being mostly a burden or is this gonna be a big year for him? Thank you for the videos.

WashyCrab

How concerned are you about Joey Votto? I know he's usually a slow starter but 2022 is not looking too kind to Joey Ballgame and Los Rojas.

Nolan McDermott

What do you think were some of the best starting pitching duos during the 2010s?

Ethan

Has the rise of 3 true outcome baseball made defense less important?

Stephen

If you were building a reliever in a lab, but they could only throw one pitch for their entire career, what pitch would you give them to make them the most successful in today's MLB? What would its characteristics be?

Wyatt Huggins

The media rights deal seems like a mess. What do you think is the best way for baseball to balance short term economic gains and long term growth.

Trevin Susanto

Do you think it’s possible for Trent Grisham to bounce back with the current baseball MLB is using? He’s a very disciplined hitter but is 3rd percentile in average exit velo in 2022 after being around 40th percentile in his career. Thanks and love the channel.

Bryson

Do you think Adalberto Mondesi is done? Such a revered prospect when he first came up but he's been pretty blah-to-bad for quite awhile now and with the season-ending injury plus Witt being a natural SS hard to see how he's not shopping for MiLB contracts when he returns from rehab.

Chris Collum

What would you say were the most underperforming and overperforming teams in a single season?

Matt Foley

What would you like to see on the Atlanta city connect jerseys?

Jackson Ingram

Will you be traveling to see games at all this baseball season? I know you did your NYC trip during the lockout, but I'm curious if you have any travel plans for this summer/fall, either to see the Braves play on the road or get to any ballparks you haven't been to

Mitchell Israel

If you can have one player for the rest of their career, who would you pick between Franco, Acuña, Soto, Guerrero Jr., and Tatis Jr.?

G

Do you prefer watching baseball movies or baseball documentaries?

ajnrules

What are you opinions on the Cardinals pitching staff and its potential once Flaherty coms back? If you want something more specific (or if you answered the last question already no need to answer this), do you think Helsley in his current state is a top reliever?

Vertildr

Can Bo Bichette continue to play shortstop long term? His numbers are pretty terrible and already he’s made a couple ghastly errors this season

Max T

Is good hitting or pitching synergistic? Does stacking good players together make them play better, or are teams just the sum of their parts?

Eli Presberg

Last season, the Yankees were among the least productive teams with the bases loaded and two out, OPS of .303. (Astros were the best at 1.614). How much of this is attributable to bad luck or lack of clutch performing as opposed to weak rosters or poor coaching? Do you foresee regression to the mean in these types of situations in 2022?

Sean

If you could give one Statcast 100 percentile attribute to one player who would it be and which attribute would you give them? Also really appreciate the Jackie video I’ve always made sure to mention that he’s amazing as well as groundbreaking but I appreciate you putting numbers to it!

Brandon Perez

Who's your favorite player that people seem to not talk about anymore?

Peter Cha

At the beginning of the season, Phil Castellini asked Reds fans “Where you gonna go?”, when asked about fan’s frustration. With the Reds currently having their worst start in franchise history, and escalating frustration amongst fans and players of the team, which teams would you recommend Reds fans going to?

Ryan Lorenz

Not sure if this has been asked before… best baseball book in your opinion?

Matt Gilman

At what point do we take a step back and say that this Miami Marlins team can compete for a postseason spot? Stellar rotation, bevy of bats with a mix of contact, power and speed. I'm not even a Marlins fan, but this team can be special.
