6 month review rant, and November plans

Hi guys,

A new month is coming up, and I have had some time in October to reflect on what I enjoy doing, and how I can best work to release quality miniatures for you.

I launched this Patreon back in May, with just the Witness  tier, as a means to test the waters and build up my range with at least  one miniature a month. From the start my ambition has been to build to a  place where I can release a full set of themed miniatures at the start  of each month like so many other Patreons does.

But I have realised that I dont necessarily like to work that way. And  just because everyone else does things a certain way, doesnt mean I have to.

I find having strict monthly deadlines centered around  providing cheap product quickly results in rushed models. Instead I am interested in designing good quality models, that are thoroughly tested  and ( hopefully) enjoyable to print and paint. And I am interested in  working directly with you, as a community.

Therefore, starting November, I will be taking the approach  of sculpting as many models throughout the month as I can, and making them  available to Patreons along the way. These may be from different themes and factions, but all based around the central "Post Apocalyptic" theme. This allows me to iterate the designs, and avoids rushing models. Then at the end of the  month I can put the models on the shops, knowing that everything has  been thoroughly tested, developed and approved by the community.

I have been trying to launch the "main" tier for months now,  but its proven difficult to afford the time to do the required work in  advance, when there are also bills to pay and children to feed. And as  outlined above, I am not even sure that would be a good approach for me.

I have tested the waters, and decided to just dive in further from here on, trusting the tides.

So on November 2nd, I will be launching the Wanderer tier,  which will be priced at 7€/ a month. ( And as a sign of gratitude for  everyone who has been along so far, I have made sure there are plenty of  early bird spots priced at just 5€ available for you to grab. You heard that here first πŸ˜‰ )

For the Wanderer tier, I am also making an additional starter set, "The Vault of the Mediamancer" which I will do another long rant about tomorrow.

The sculpting plans for November so far are as follows:

5+ new robots
Wreckerbot 2.0
The Mutant Trader
"Something decided by the community"
5+ radzombies

+ stuff for the starter sets.

The journey so far has been great, and I would like again  to thank everyone who has supported me so far, or bought any of my  products, or said a kind word about my models. You guys are all  champions, and I hope when the Apocalypse comes, you wont be among the  first to die ❀️

Thanks for an amazing first 6 months,
-Sonny

I just discovered your work and joined. I wanted to +1 the warning about patreon burnout. My goal is NOT to squeeze out a great deal out of you and stress you out, nor to have you overpromise and maybe underdeliver. Instead, it is to provide some €€€ to support your work each month, and get whatever I end up getting each month, in a style and genre that I have a shared passion for. So yeah! Dont burn out, do what you love and chances are: we will love it too!

I want to second Tabletop Terrain, I like what you do and I really like your miniatures. Your miniatures are unique and have the right style to fit in perfectly with my current collection of miniatures for skirmish games like Necromunda. I have a few other Patreons that I support and two of them have struggled with burnout. One has put his Patreon on hold and the other just decided to put a limit on that they produce every month.
