I get that Ariana loves the books and the movies, but i'm noticing that Ariana starts talking very passionate about the books and ends the commentary and I'm left thinking "But what does Maple think?" She is after all reacting to it for the first time. I hope it doesn't come across as rude feedback, love your reactions.

2025-02-17 22:17:14 +0000 UTCI would say comparisons are kinda of unfair, since Harris was only in movies 1 and 2, that are very much lighter and less adult movies, and Dumbledore doesn't have a lot to do yet. I think Gambon did a fine job, but I prefer the costume design and look of Harris for Dumbledore.

2025-02-17 21:23:18 +0000 UTCI think Goblet of Fire is a great movie on its own, but it may be one of the most egregiously against the text, as far as fussing with the plot points are concerned, and it's hard for me to look past it sometimes, but I suppose that may be my own fault. Although, the text for Dumbledore asking Harry about his name in the goblet literally says "dumbledore asked calmly". But ya the actor for Amos Diggory brings way too much acting chops to this movie lol. single-handedly the best performance of this film.

Because one it's not his Persona and Two because it for me ruins the end when Dumbledore is Pissed at the imposter mad eye. Because in the book it describes how intimidating and powerful he is projecting himself to protect Harry. With Cold Eyes. It shows the seriousness of him. (Yes I'm your generic millennial Harry Potter fanboy lol)

2025-02-16 22:00:44 +0000 UTCJeez I forgot how angry Dumbledore really is throughout this movie. I know "dIDyApuTYoURnAmEINtHEgOBlEtOFFire??" is a meme but it's like the whole time. And all of the ✨cinematic✨ stuff they put in just to look cool but which doesn't make any sense. God, I kinda hate Mike Newell for what he did to this movie 😅 It's sort of similar to the third one in that it's a good, fun movie if you just watch it once, maybe even as a standalone film, but as a part of a series, it just has too many weird, nonsensical, continuity-breaking things in it. Another thing that the films really failed to portray is all of Ron's insecurities. Like they make him just into the generic, jealous douche and sure, he's not at his best in book 4 either. But they never really show how much Ron is just constantly insecure about the fact that all of his older brothers are like accomplished or revered, and he feels he needs to live up to that, but then is best friend is Harry fucking Potter, so he always has to play second fiddle and he feels insecure about the fact his family has no money (that's why he had shitty dress robes, his parents couldn't afford better ones and had to get some second-hand ones, while Harry could buy nice ones), like even though he's a jerk in the book as well, he's kind of more sympathetic.
