As the world turns orange and red, my wife and I sit on our deck, listening to soft bossa nova jazz, each curled up with a good book, enjoying her fabulous homemade pumpkin spice coffee. Something to smile about: about a week ago, the mother of a client of mine called my office in tears; just to thank me for getting her son's drivers license re-instated. The more I told her it was no big deal, the more she insisted it was. Often, my profession can be ugly and thankless, so it was a rare touching moment.
