I don't like the muting, it's distracting, very likely way more distracting then the thing the are arctually saying. It's not watchable for me, I'll try the watchalong instead

Pretty sure it's because they're talking about their notes when it's muted and they think it's not relevant to the reaction.

You could call it PTSD. The thing about the show that it doesn't tell you is that Arya is said to be the spitting image of Lyanna, her aunt. They are also VERY alike personality wise. So at that moment, Ned is thinking back on his sister. And then he's reminded of the last time he saw her and the battle he had to get to her.
At this point of the books it's almost as if he can't escape the memories of his sister.
So it's not like what you'd think of as a PTSD episode. Or at least it's an episode by someone who has learned to live with it
