I agree, in real life, it is incredibly condescending for the liberal west to judge other cultures on their cruelty, given how much we struggle to live up even to our own values, but the culture of the Dothraki is a product of authorial intent. It is not real history, even if it is loosely based on history. Do not treat it as such.

However for some reason after Gullivers Travels was The Life of Brian. I used to watch that tape every weekend as a child, and my parents wondered why I was always so disinterested in church or religion in general. I could never look at a crucifix without whistling. lol

It's from the very first episode of Flying Circus produced, and it's a perfect example of their silly-for-the-sake-of-silly ethos. Head's up that some of the uploads are not the full sketch. If they like that, then they'll probably be on board for Holy Grail. Oh, right, this is a comment section for a GoT episode. Betrayal. Intrigue. British character actors making this shit look easy. Great episode.

2024-09-02 21:43:23 +0000 UTCI reeeeaaaaaallllyyyyy think you guys would benefit from at least the First Season’s History and Lore, it touches up on a lot of the world building that’s just way too awkward to have dialogue about without feeling forceful, but it’s also in character so all of the histories and lore are read to you by the actors in characters recounting a story. But like the stuff with the weirwood (trees with faces on them) are explained super well and nothing is a spoiler so I honestly just agree with others who’ve mentioned watching those, if not all of them the first one at least.

2024-09-02 18:44:38 +0000 UTCDany convinced Drogo to go for the Iron Throne, all those women that got raped were due to her and her ambitions, but she’s too naive to know how things are done so now she’s trying to conquer “nicely” which just doesn’t work in war. Drogo even ends his speech with saying he will rape their women, I don’t know why she expected anything different. Dany is a foreigner to them who is coming in and saying “your culture is wrong, you need to assimilate to mine instead” she is having them go and do her dirty work and then taking away their “payment”. I know it’s easy to look in with our modern morals and stuff but, you gotta try and see things how they would’ve been judged by the people living in the times. We can acknowledge things are wrong with hindsight while also trying to understand why life was the way it was back then.

After the war, Ned sent him to The Wall. So Thorne has hated him and his family ever since. I'm not sure if someone has mentioned that in the comments of a previous video, but that's why Thorne hates Jon.

Note that when he pulls out his sword everyone is ready. That's because he's considered, top 3 knights that ever existed, and that is a serious fighter. He quite literally could have killed most people in that hall by himself.
