When a samurai committed seppuku the second was not to prevent his pain, but to cut his head off before he could cry out or stop. That way the samurai's honor was preserved..

2025-02-02 10:15:43 +0000 UTCNot gonna be too precise or not gonna give any spoilers, but let's just say that the show is based on a book (Shogun) and the plot and the main characters are loosely inspired from real persons and events in japan around that time. but we can't say it's historical at all.
