2023-12-28 10:52:26 +0000 UTCHonestly after doing this rewatch with you guys I think Fuches is my favorite character purely because of the crazy path he takes; like he said in that speech he was able to see who he actually is an embraced it. Noho couldn't, Barry couldn't, Gene DEFINITELY couldn't (if only he let Barry turn himself in!). Sally kind of just remains broken but finds some modicum of peace when it's all said and done and seeing John smile at the end makes me believe that he would rather believe the lies about his dad (because as you said he was there!) than face the reality of it all. Just a crazy show from start to finish that I absolutely adore and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

2023-12-25 21:10:56 +0000 UTCIt's been a blast! Having rewatched a few times now the ending has really grown on me. I love that look at the end that John gives where he knows 100% parts of the movie were fake, but the narrative is sooo attractive to believe in. Love Fuches finally accepting who he is after a life of BS, and as his final act protecting John and sending him back to Barry. Sally's ending is nice too - she says No to a man with no justification or excuses, then drives home safely with her student's flowers. A deeply interesting ending and the whole production was 10/10 throughout.
