I agree on "medium" for this episode. It's just ok, although I really like the scenes of Mulder finding out about Jewish lore, and as someone who is Jewish himself, I really loved seeing a Jewish myth amongst Mulder and Scully's pantheon of cases. But the actual execution doesn't make the episode stand out. Not great. Not terrible.

You might be interested to know that the ceremonial ring was a real Jewish relic owned by a rabbi who survived the Holocaust, and was used to wed two of the writer, Howard Gordon's, friends. This later inspired him to write the episode.
