Magic is a unreliable/fickle thing... if there's a price to pay than the price in this case life for a life is unreliable... take Uther and his wife for thier son to live... Uther didn't know who's life would be taken in relation to the life for a life and neither did Nimue in this case his wife could have also died during child birth because of unknown complications... point being magic in any form can be unreliable you never know the true intentions of the user even if they are of good intentions the consequences although thought to be one thing could turn out to be another thing... like life for a life

The chemistry with this cast is off the charts, even Lancelot and Gwen in that ep he was in, the fire was there… I love every character in this show (except Uther, never Uther) this was an amazing reaction, I loved every second of it, I re-lived exactly as it was for me, I was so scared for Gaius cause, the letter and that scene with the rabbit amulet in retrospective it seemed like they were building into a farewell and Im so glad he survive! I tear up everytime I see the letter scene 😭 One think I noticed rather quickly in the show is that they use the “destiny” excuse to like justify the intensity between Arthur and Merlin’s bond the “I must protect him cause thats what Im here for” and yeah, sure the show says that a lot but in this ep I looooveeeeed how after Merlin said he must save him because its his destiny, he adds “he’s my friend” 🥺 and I was yeeees! You do care a whole lot for each other and that “farewell” scene between them… chef kiss, which fun fact the like “you’re a prat…but a royal one” is the same from the pilot ep when they met, and I live for that little detail 🥺 they’ve come so far ❤️ Im so glad you’re liking this show cause it really is a great one, its the characters for me, hopefully Chris keeps requesting so we get to see where go next ❤️ see you in the next one

2022-02-23 05:47:03 +0000 UTCthis show has become one of my favorite shows of all time & i thank both chris & luis for introducing me to it, i looooooved this reaction, thank you for the season analysis at the end, these characters are so wholesome, i love them all, i am like you, i ship everyone with everyone on that show although admittedly merthur has my heart, when i first watched this episode the whole arthur/gwen thing came as a surprise to me, as someone who knew nothing about the Arthurian legend other than that one day he pulls a sword out of a rock lol, all i had is previous episodes with gwen showing interest in merlin & Lancelot & & even morgana, Arthur not fighting for gwen's dad like morgana did, up till this episode i pretty much shipped every possible pairing except Arthur/Gwen just because they had the least scenes together lol, i love that when merlin was planning on sacrificing his life, the first thing he said is i need to say goodbye to Arthur 😥 my heart, and what breaks my heart is that sure gwen is so sweet for nursing arthur but merlin is Arthur's true gardian angel, Arthur just doesn't know it & merlin never gets that recognition, he saved arthur's life countless times this season & arthur is none the wiser, paiiiiin, so many iconic merthur lines from this episode, it's my destiny to protect him, we haven't done all the things we were meant to do, i will gladly give my life for arthur, his life is worth a hundred of mine, i am happy to be your servant till the day i die and just merlin's joy when Gaius said the prince lives, it's just too much for one episode lol, i love it, my favorite episode this season is the same as you, i love that everyone we care about lived, can't wait for season 2
