Avengers Infinity War

Hi I'm new here. I'm watching at the reactions to the MCU chronologically and I wanted to know if there are the reactions of Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Such a great content Maple. Cheers.

Benjamin Valdespino Bravo

I know Maple wants to veer into more serious/adult movies, please tell me she will at least be watching End Game. Would seem like an awful waste of time to not watch the end of the Thanos/Infinity storyline. BTW I'm new to the channel and am loving it.

Bryan Erickson

If she puts Infinity War as her worst MCU movie I'm going to lose my mind.

"Also, just curious to know if Maple will be reacting to the Disney+ shows? " I certainly hope so. It would genuinely be a real bummer if she doesn't, especially seeing as how integral thaey are to the MCU as a whole.

William

Didn’t get to watch the reaction yesterday as I was in Brighton seeing Alan Partridge live (so so funny), but finally sitting down to watch now. I love that in this film, Thanos is the protagonist not the antagonist, this is completely his movie. I think Infinity War is technically a better film than Endgame, in terms of writing, structure and plot, but the pure spectacle of what they achieved with Endgame, and how it made me feel, will always make that my favourite MCU film, at least so far. Also, just curious to know if Maple will be reacting to the Disney+ shows?

What it really broke were fans who only knew Marvel through the MCU (admittedly there are a LOT of those now) and a lot of little kids.

Thomas Yanez

This film broke Marvel fans when it was in theaters.

thank you

Hugs, Harbor Kat. Hope you are well!

There has been no definitive reason given, because it isn't explained yet. I like your theory, but there isn't a reason yet.

The reason that the Hulk refuses to come out is that he's never been beaten that badly before and is frightened (and possibly ashamed). Remember, the Hulk has a child-like level of intelligence and he reacts accordingly. Also, while Thanos is very strong it's doubtful that he could have beaten the Hulk or Thor so easily without possessing the Power Stone, which increases its wielders physical strength, among other attributes.

Also, every first reactor seems to forget that the flip-phone was sent by Cap to “Tony Stank” with his written apology to Tony in the final scene of Civil War. I’m sure you know who Kevin Bacon is, you just don’t know you know it.

Harbor Kat

Holy shit yes!

Michael DeRisi

FYI, when watching on Disney+, if you press that SKIP CREDITS button it will take you directly to the mid/post-credits scenes. There's no need to scrub through manually. Just so ya know. ;)

William

In agreement but adding Magneto to that list

Harbor Kat

“Knowhere. It looks like a skull.” It IS! It’s the decapitated head of a Celestial. You just *may* see more of them in an upcoming film on your MCU journey. BTW, that was Red Skull on Vormir - the villain from the first Captain America film.

William

Maple, it’s only the power stone that is destructive to hold or touch. The rest of the stones are relatively safe(ish). 😉

William

Yes! I saw this picture on Maple’s Instagram and have been checking religiously since. You have made what would normally be an emotionally tough day better.

I know it's easy to hate Thanos, but he's actually my favorite part of this movie. Yes Thanos is not fully in the right and he doesn't see why killing so many people, even if it's painless like he did with dusting them, is wrong. What makes him so fucking dangerous isnt even that hes "evil". Its because he really thinks he will save the universe. Whether he would or not is kind of irrelevant. Hes literally like a religious extremist, seeking vindication from what happened to his planet. Those delusions are really why hes so menacing, he wont stop for anything and he must accomplish his perceived destiny. He thinks it's the price worth paying. And I think he does care about the universe, but its clouded by his trauma. He said his home planet died due to overpopulation. And he said killing half of them would let the rest thrive. But no one listened, and all his people perished. So that pain makes him think if they did things his way, they would have lived. And the problem is that apparently Gamoras home world survived after he tried his idea. That validates his plan and makes him think, "if it works here, it could work everywhere." Thus starts his mission. I know he is obsessed and misguided, but he is such admirable character in this movie. With the way he sees himself and what he is willing to do. He isn't doing this for power, and he isn't trying to make himself happy. Proof of this is right at the end, he accomplished his mission, but at the cost of everything he cares about. He has little to live for, which is why he just sits and watches the sun rise. But he is content because he believes he saved the universe. This quality of self sacrifice, isn't in a lot of these selfish villains we see in older movies who just want power. This is the same quality one of my favorite heroes, Captain America has. Completing the mission at their own sake, even if they suffer while doing it. Few other villains have that, which is why I have a weird feeling of supporting Thanos. Not because I want people to die, but because he is willing to give all he has, even his own life, for the sake of what he believes in. That's why he's so complex, he has a lot of villainous qualities, but so many heroic parts to him as well. He didn't do it for a reward, he did it because he believed in it, however deluded he is. He's the only villain I've almost wanted to win more than the heroes. The only other villain I've felt this much sympathy or support for was Darth Vader.

Chad Gloria
