New video editing program/working on visuals for voice message video

Ended up looking over my camera settings (Filming in Slog 3 on my Sony A7SIII for those in the know) and how to use that footage in a new video editing program (da vinci resolve) today. Looots of research but also lots of exciting possibilities I can imagine learning all this stuff. It, for example, has a very neat masking feature where I can isolate myself without greenscreen, so that's what I was trying out here ( and putting a dumb filter on the background lol). Planning to film the visuals for the voice message video tomorrow. Gonna be quite basic, not entirely unlike this little test clip. Thinking about how I can use this creatively :) Filming this way also gives me a lot more wiggle room to do interesting things with colors, so been researching a lot of color correction stuff too.
Time for a protein smoothie! (bought a smoothie maker to endure this wisdom teeth removal recovery lol).

2023-03-22 03:52:34 +0000 UTCThe filter kinda reminds of Blue's Clues fsr, in a good way c: I tried DaVinci Resolve after only using iMovie a few times, oh boy howdy was I confused about all the options and menus within menus π Kinda blown away that robust of a sw program is at a free tier. Some amazing Ps and Ai like free sw out there too c: Things I wish I had discovered back in college. Have fun putting your stamp on other parts of the creative process. As always, excited to see the final video!

2023-03-21 01:59:34 +0000 UTCImo I feel like this mini video clip is awesome bc it shows the "rare, raw" footage like and what's it like to do filming or behind the scenes on how things are film for content & adding in some "flavor" of furniture, plants , walls , etc. Plus the camera lens looks like it's panning out so I can see literally anything (maybe kinda hard to explain it maybe you'll get it) but meaning like when it's set like that I could, can see "better" like the full room experience rather than just you and some items in the frame or you trying to show things when their completely out-of-frame π€£ Idk if any of this makes any sense to you or understand it at all but yeah , let me know if you don't understand it clearly or so.ππ @Roomie

Video editing is actually one of the things I used to enjoy the most back in the day. Seeing everything come together is really exciting, and being able to see how what I filmed and recorded can be used leads to being able to improve a lot faster. But it can be exhausting and slow to do so much. Eventually I'll want to have others edit at least part of it, like how I edited most of the basic stuff on the mashup video and wrote the jokes, and rikard went through with making my ideas come to life (even though I had edited it together to be a cohesive video already)

Awee, you gotten your wisdom teeth out, how did that feel, do you feel numbness or anything lol I've had mine out few years ago (coz dentist's says I have tiny mouth lol haha which is true btws lol) Also now i have (since September last year) Invisalign now just getting those casings for bottom row to "even" out or so haha! When I had my wisdom teeth out they toke all of them in one day, when I woke up I only could feel the stuff they put your month for bleeding , etc. And my whole tongue went numb couldn't feel anything and I had to eat/ drink just fluids for a awhile haha!
