2022 in Review
Added 2023-01-09 15:20:22 +0000 UTCIt has been two years since starting, and it has felt like 15. I am writing up this post to maintain transparency with the patrons. I appreciate everyone who helped support me during 2022, and those who have joined recently following the Skyrim video. As a review, I did the following work in 2022:
No Man's Sky
Elden Ring
Morrowind Character Creation Guide
FEAR
Skyrim (the 20 hour one)
Battlefront 2 (2017)
Harry Potter 4 + 5
This last year I managed to get 115 minutes of content out per month, on average obviously. This is a step up from 80 min/mo that we did in 2021, and does not include any streams/podcasts that were done.
2023
My plan for 2023 is straightforward. I am not starting another big project until after I finish my review of Starfield. Since we don't know when that is going to be, that gives me a good deal of time to give some thought as to what I am going to have the next big project be.
Since we have the time, I am going to be covering Outer Worlds and Fallout 76. I envision these as being 'medium' projects. If I get these done and develop restless hands, then I might expedite starting my next big project. There will be an announcement whenever I make a decision about what that is going to be however.
I am afforded a bit of freedom given that I don't have a big project or deadline looming over me, so I suspect I will be taking advantage of said freedom to do what I want. I will endeavor to keep you informed as to where I am at.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

2023-02-03 01:29:17 +0000 UTCPretty excited about a possible Outer Worlds. I lost all excitement when one of the trailers showed "gun +1" aspects. Still very curious what ended up becoming of the "fallout killer" "from the devs that made new vegas". ("Gun +1" is like an iron sword +2 dealing more damage than a steel +0. In itself not bad - I find Destiny 2 most enjoyable before hitting the softcap - It is such a cheap way of adding gear progression where I can't get attached to my items, knowing I have get to replace it within the hour. While I agree it helps with making the 100th pistol I find as interesting as the previous - unlike fallout 4 guns where your custom pistol is all you ever need - I miss fallout 3's (simple) system of using similar items to repair my current one. Even when wearing power armour, I always get to be excited about finding another set to repair my current set.)
