Earlier in Ameyoko street (short for Ameya Yokocho) recording some ambient sounds for a future audio 😊 it’s funny walking here in all the chaos, you really realize how noisy Tokyo can be.
But I like it - shopkeepers saying welcome, little store chimes, store theme music playing, fruit sellers shouting their prices, the sound of the train in the background… it’s a nice kind of noisy, for me at least. Maybe others find it to be too much. I find it comforting. To me it sounds like home😊
This is a cool area of Tokyo, there are alleyways filled with shops and izakayas. The shops sell anything from luggage to books, dried squid, herbal medicine, and surplus American military gear.
It’s a really cool place with a lot of history (it was a black market of sorts for American goods after WWII) - I recommend visiting when you visit Tokyo💖
