LTT- bug facts!

You'll find these sorts of insect sheets inbetween chapters throughout the comic!

I've been passionately reading up on insects, at first as research for the comic, but it turned quickly into something for my own pleasure.

I've always loved bugs and critters! And I hope that those who may not love them that much can find a little something through these little pages<3

Next week let's begin chapter 2! The website will be launched before then and I'll make sure to announce it here the moment it does :)

I only learned about the caterpillar legs recently! At one point I asked myself "wait, insects are supposed to have three pairs of legs, but caterpillars??" and then I found the answer and I was overly excited about it :D

Pimellon

there is over a million known species of insects, but there are definitely several million in total yeah!

yayyyyy oh i LOVE IT ok, so it seems i got it wrong when i tried to identify the moth back on page 2 or 3 haha! this one is so pretty <3 and metamorphosis is SO AMAZING. Relatedly, Brian David Gilbert has a great song about caterpillars that is absolutely not a metaphor, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfw9n2ktX9k

Bug facts bug facts bug facts bug facts! I... I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't know the thing about caterpillar legs, considering how much time I've spent looking at them, I might have known and forgotten about it tho. I love the start of thos comic and I'm so excited for the rest! And for more Bug Facts! I'm so happy you like the tiny little things, too! Last summer I saw fire bugs all the time and didn't know what their deal was, really, so thank you!

Learning more about the world, about its disgusting horrors and its touching wonders, is good for the brain and for the soul. I admit I'm usually a bit creeped out and sometimes even scared of 'creepy crawlies', but even I have to admit that there is wonder to be found in examining them. I mean, just the simple fact that there are just so darn MANY species of insects (there are MILLIONS, I think, aren't there?) is pretty amazing. Plus, it all reminds me of the funny lines from the movie 'A Bug's Life' - "I got 24 hours to live, and I ain't gonna waste 'em here!"
