That new Patreon service fee
Added 2017-12-07 20:03:09 +0000 UTCHey everyone, Coury here. As you may have heard by now, Patreon has stupidly changed the way service fees are handled. Up until recently, the creator paid the transaction fee, but for some reason, Patreon has decided that the Patron will be the one to carry that burden instead.

We wanted you to know that we are pretty angry with what Patreon is doing. Since we offer everything at our 1 dollar tier, it means that we have a bunch of Patrons at that level who will have to pay an additional 38 cents on top of it.
We've already lost a good number of our Patrons today due to this, and I don't blame anyone for it. If you stick around, we just wanted to let you know that we really appreciate everything. Its our hope that it doesn't take long for Patreon to walk it back, their heads held low.

Question for you guys. I want to get a AV receiver for my setup but don’t know where to start. What do you guys think about the yamaha rx-v483? My local PX/BX has one for $267.97. It was $369 but they dropped the price.

The amount of money seems small, sure, but the bigger thing I think is that the less clean, simple, and straightforward it is for a person to be a patron, the more likely they are to do it. Add in fees, percentages, some 40 cent fee etc, and I think this will dissuade people.

I don't have a lot to offer, but my small contribution is now basically nothing. I want to send you guys my contribution a different way. Is there any other donation system you guys will accept?
